“Baker County Judge Matt Shirtcliff overturns Governor's coronavirus executive orders; state petitions Oregon Supreme Court to overrule judge”

This article at least has a copy of the judge’s reasoning and decision:

A couple of things to consider:  so far it looks like the courts have ruled along the lines of whether or not the governor had the authority.  In one case, the governor's authority came from the legislature and had expired.  In the other, it looks like there are time limits on such orders.

It doesn't look like the courts ever tried to address whether or not the orders were necessary or useful.

otoh - I'm going to steal a line from a Tom Clancy novel and say that the Constitution is not a suicide pact.  Yes, I'm disgusted by how easily people have given up the rights of other people.  However, if someone can show how these "emergency" orders are truly necessary... then please, someone do so.  Right now we have such a wishy-washy quarantine it can hardly be effective.  Fortunately, COVID-19 has a really low CFR (yes, probably higher than the flu, but nowhere near SARS).

Florida is among the states that carefully locked down but at least pretended to consider our rights.

I'm from Florida and I supported DeSantis.  And like Trump, he has greatly exceeded my expectations.  I think he will make a great President one day.
