on cancelled Trump rally.

But, but...Trump said he consulted them.
-
Why would he need to consult with them? Protesters are a police problem, not a political rally problem. Everybody knew the event was coming. It's not like it was a last minute surprise. Anyhow, Trump got the exact result he wanted. Probably even better than expected. Probably made money on the ticket sales and concessions, got a load of free press again, made the left look bad and didn't even have perform. I bet he pulls this again in some other solid liberal neighborhood.
-
The police we seriously under manned for the rally. They should have had two or three times the number of officers. Could Rahm Emanuel be behind this?

I only point it out because Trump said he consulted them.

Do you think by chance the Trump campaign has a security detail that coordinates with law enforcement, the Secret Service and other security concerns when they plan events, or are you just assuming Mr. Trump takes care of this himself?
-

oh good grief. Let's start with the Trump is to blame for the protests. Not the protesters, it's Trump's responsibility.
And just to add icing to the cake, you claim you know what Trump wants.
-

So who do you believe, and why?
There are thousands of Chicago cops. I suspect he talked with a couple of them but maybe not the one that is officially The Chicago Police Department.
And there is a thread saying we need more liberals. Sheesh. We have enough of you guys that we do t need no stinking liberals. 😜

No, and relax. This smells like a rat, and I think that rat is named Rahm.
I think it's a damned shame Trump had to cancel this, and put the blame primarily on Obama and his sycophants and race baiters, and the Machine politicians who seek to divide.

I believe Trump. There is no way he or the USSS wouldn't coordinate with them.
Lighten up, Francis.

Agreed. And expect more to come as the desperation of the democrats keeps increasing.

I thought I was being light. Didn't you see that stupid emoticon?
But I'm glad you doubt the veracity of Rahm's Robots.

I am sure his security staff, and the SS coordinated with the Chicago Police. My question still remains, why so few police? Why weren't more called in?
This was held at a university so they had a ready made cadre of useful idiots right there. I don't think Trump will make that mistake again.

Sorry, I missed it. For some reason Tapatalk sometimes truncates posts, lopping off the last few words or characters.
I'll trust you and will check tonight on the actual PS site. ;)

Nope. He's not to blame for the protesters, but he is aware of their existence and by placing his event at a university in Chicago, he can be almost guaranteed to make headlines. A calculated outcome and it paid off probably better thane expected. I'm sure he, or at least one or more of his staffers, tracks the people vehemently against him, where they are and what they're up to. Social media makes this pretty easy.
He knows his inflammatory speeches have gotten people all riled up, that's why he made them. He's now using their anger against them. His quick cancellation of the event was genius. I don't know if it was his idea or not, but it was brilliant and not consistent with his brawling character, so it's easy to see it's a calculation.
I do applaud either he, or his strategists for setting this one up. My guess is he does it again soon.

Come on, you guys keep telling us what a shrewd, cunning businessman Trump is. How he uses things to his advantage and always comes out on top. Gimp has even said his lack of specifics in his speeches is a clever strategy to get sound bites out on mass communication and leverage the media to his own advantage for free... but staging a rally in an area that he knows will draw protesters and TV cameras is some how either too complicated for him figure out, or somehow beneath his moral character or something???
Talk about seeing what you want to see... That's right, Trump is even using his supporters to his advantage in ways they are not aware. Like I said, this will likely happen again. He is literally getting paid for free advertising to promote himself and his supporters and his detractors are part of that plan.

I don't think you will see that happen again because then it would really look purposeful.

To be clear, I have theorized that, I have no insight, and have claimed none, into the actual campaign. But in sales you match the message to the intended receiver and provide enough information to close the deal, so it makes sense to me that that would be an approach someone with Trump's experience would follow - he has not said that to my recollection.
That said, any candidate, from any party, should be able to go into any venue, anywhere, and say what they have to say, without fear of violent protest or physical assault, and that includes Trump.
When honestly evaluating the devolution of our political discourse, only one side resorts to the threat of violence to shut down speech from the other side, and it is not the Republican/Libertarian or Right.
Only one side has a rule book, that explains how to do so.
Only one side has a history of so-called community organizers whose SOLE PURPOSE is to sow the seeds of discontent, stir the shit and then point the resulting rabble at some political target of opportunity.
The Left is SOLELY responsible for this, because it is the only way that they can compete in the arena of ideas, to shut down and silence the opposition. And this is a tactic used repeatedly by the Left dating back to October of 1917.
And for anyone to think or suggest that there is no coordination between a person seeking a Presidential Nomination on a national level who has a Secret Service protection detail and local LEO is deliberately deluding themselves to buy into storyline that fits within their worldview, nothing more.

To be clear, I am not that person. I'm sure there was coordination. However, for the CPD to deny it tells me that there's a rat in the kitchen and his name is Rahm.
