Title: Republicans show their true colors once again
Post by: Lucifer on December 05, 2020, 07:38:02 AM
So now the election is settled for many in the senate, the Turtle and his gang are anxious to give the voters the middle finger and proceed to get back to working with their friends.

The defense bill is a joke, and clearly is making way to keep us involved in endless wars and keep the money flowing to contractors.  And after posturing before the election of all the evils of the Section 230 reform, they now can't bring themselves to actually do anything about it.

And then we have republicans who can't wait to make it easier to import foreign workers wile Americans are unemployed.  Despicable.

And don't forget, let's go raid the treasury again and pork up another "stimulus" bill.

The republican party is officially dead, they just don't know it yet.

WTF is it with Mike Lee, who sponsored the amendment to get rid of country limits for H1B visas?

I’ve always thought he was a good conservative, but he’s starting to smell like the swamp.

He is.  He’s right in the mold of the Turtle.

The Turtle is actually no different than Pelosi.   If you dare go against him, there is retribution. This is why the Turtle has sabotaged Trump backed candidates in favor of the establishment types.  Remember when Sasse was praised as being a model conservative?

Fuck ‘em all.   There’s hell coming.

Is the party and its platform that you refer to?:
http://www.americafirstparty.org/docs/platform.shtml (http://www.americafirstparty.org/docs/platform.shtml)

I object to several of their platform points. I notice current America First party appears to have been around since 2002 and currently has affiliate parties only in a few states. I do not know how many members have been elected to office.

By comparison the LP has a simpler platform and has affiliate parties in every state and currently claims 94 members in partisan offices and another 129 in non-partisan offices.

I object to some of it too but I’d take it over the current D or R party any day. The L party? Hasn’t managed to gain any traction in decades. Reality is, right now, the T party is the only real option (Trump) whatever it ends up calling itself.

H1B1 Visas are killing employment opportunities and wages for American collegs grads in favor of Indians and other Asians.  Entire housing developments of Indians are popping up all around me and have been for years now.   WTF???

EFFING Republicans are just as bad as the Commie Democrats.

Engineering used to be a professional occupational. Back in the day engineers lived good lives, but the H1b destroyed engineering as a PROFESSIONAL occupation. Indian/Asians were happy to come in making 40 cents on the dollar.

I’m gonna make it to the finish line and retire a little bit early, but it wasn’t the fulfilling career I had expected it to be. I actively dissuade smart kids from entering the profession.

It won’t be an option. All it will do is split the conservative vote and ensure a Democrat government.  Trump has wasted his opportunity being snide on Twitter.

I put nothing past Donald Trump. 71+ million people would follow his lead if he were to start a new party.

Do not mistake 71 million people thinking he was a better choice than Joe "Sunset" Biden for loyalty; the two are different.  Trump has a much, much smaller rabidly loyal following.

You underestimate his following and loyalty.

He was projected to lose in a landslide of epic proportions. Instead he got more votes than any incumbent president ever, including more than Barak the Magic Negro.

You underestimate his following and loyalty.

Reread what I said.  Voting for him does not equal loyalty.

If Trump attempts to for a new party, he will get millions to join.  But that number won't be 70 million because they voted for him.  It will be more like 20-30 million, which is a huge number.  However, the only effective outcome of this will be to split the conservative vote and ensure Democrats win where ever this third party is in play.

I can fucking read. I’m saying your premise is wrong.

4 years ago many Republicans held their nose and voted for Trump. I was one of them. SINCE THEN, Trump has proven himself as the most conservative Republican since Reagan, a fighter for conservative values, a fighter for the American people, a destroyer of the swamp, and a good and decent man.

I don’t believe many people held their noses to vote for Trump this time.

Voter apathy allows these blue states to be dominated by the progressives.   Take Michigan.  Whitmer got elected to Governor with a record low turnout and by Wayne County.   Had the republican voters bothered to get off the couch and go vote, she would have been easily defeated.

The blue states are full of apathetic voters who say "It doesn't matter, the dims will win anyway" then don't bother voting.

Glad you vote.  Just wish the apathetic idiots would get off their ass.

I don’t believe many people held their noses to vote for Trump this time.

Your belief is not fact.  Only 53% of Republicans support a Trump 2024 run - Politico poll Tuesday.  At best he could convince those people to leave the Republican party and follow him to a new Trump party, but at least some of those would stick with the party over a personality.

What's sad is that 53% is enough to win a primary, but not enough to beat any semi-competent Democrat challenger. So those other 47% would be holding their noses in the general election and some would withhold their votes.  I still assert Trump lost because he turned people off, regardless of how many people he energized.  High enthusiasm of a smaller voting block is not a winning strategy.  47% hardly qualifies as "not many".

Four years can change a lot.  Trump will have that time to rehabilitate himself with voters.  Other Republicans who want to run will have the chance to position themselves.  We will see what happens in the future.

I thought we were talking about THIS election, genius, not 2024.

News flash:  I don’t support a Trump  candidacy in 4 years either. He will be the same age as Biden, which I consider too old to start a second term.

Do you think that opinion means I held my nose in 2020?

You are so invested in your opinion that you can’t possibly see the enthusiasm that Trump drove, SINGLEHANDEDLY, without virtually ANY GOP support.

People love Trump DESPITE the GOP, not because he was a GOP candidate.

https://amgreatness.com/2020/12/09/if-you-are-tired-of-the-establishment-gop-its-time-for-you-to-replace-them/

Quote
A lot of people, indeed tens of millions of people or roughly half the electorate, are angry about the November election. And we can legitimately be angry because any thinking person with common sense knows that this was not a free and fair election. So many things were done wrong: universal mail-in voting, “election weeks” instead of Election Day, suspicious mail drops in the middle of the night, vote counting magically suspended at convenient times, and suspect electronic voting machines just to name a few.

We know that happened. So we have a right to be angry at Democrats.

But every thinking American should also be upset with the Republican establishment. They should have been covering the right flank, but they didn’t.

What most voters probably don’t know is that Marc Elias, a swamp-dwelling lawyer in D.C. who played a key role in fostering the Russian collusion hoax, spearheaded many of the Democrats’ 300 or so legal cases starting shortly after the 2018 elections. By some estimates, Elias and Democrats plowed $100 million or so into their efforts to create the total chaos that ensued this November. In other words, they were way ahead of their Republican opposition.

According to some pretty reliable sources, the RNC was warned nearly two years ago about what the Democrats and Elias were up to, yet didn’t take it seriously. They gave Elias a significant headstart on the legal front, and apparently spent just a fraction of the necessary money on legal work to prevent what took place—only $4 million or so (this is independent of whatever the Trump campaign might, or might not, have spent).

This should infuriate the party and the base. People were warned, people did nothing, ergo the total cluster****. But now is not the time to pick up your toys and go home. In fact, I would argue that now is the time to look back on what was done to stop it and learn how to prevent a repeat in the future.

That’s right: we can’t complain when we should have been working on this over ten years ago when people like me were saying we needed to make the party a creature of our own creation: a party is what people say it is. The people who say what it is are the ones who run and win primaries, those who show up at conventions and, quite frankly, run for precinct chairs.

Now if you have been involved, then good for you. I applaud you. But I can guarantee that 90 percent of you didn’t do anything. Oh, you’ve been bitching and moaning about how bad the party establishment is for years, I’m sure of it. Whining about how it ignores the base and makes stupid decisions. Guess what? Decisions are made by those who show up. If you didn’t show up, then you have no right to complain about what happened. We ended up with a party run by corrupt incompetents because not enough of you showed up.

I see some of the stupidity taking place in Georgia right now where some think that they’ll stay home from the special elections on January 5 to punish the GOP establishment. I get it . . . sort of. Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are like vanilla ice cream covered in vanilla syrup topped with vanilla flakes—certainly among some of the most blasé candidates one could nominate. But staying home and handing Chuck Schumer and the Left the Senate is like popping a few stupid pills and then figuring you might as well just down the entire bottle to go full-on stupid.

We didn’t get to this place overnight: only little children think that whining and stomping their feet will change anything in the immediate. So why is anyone in the base moaning and groaning about the situation we’re in right now as if they didn’t actually play some part in bringing us to this point? You did. Look in the mirror to identify one of the guilty. You left undone those things which you ought to have done.

You probably don’t like me saying that. To which I say: tough nuts. I’m right.

If you don’t want to be abandoned, or betrayed, or abused by the establishment anymore, then here’s an idea: maybe you should become the establishment. Become the party and change it from within. That doesn’t happen overnight and it certainly doesn’t happen with you crying that you didn’t get your way. It’s going to require some of you to run for local, state, and even federal offices, others to run for precinct chairs, others to show up at conventions.

The best time to have gotten serious about this? Ten years ago. The next best time? January 1, 2021.

There is no perfection in politics. There never was and there never will be.

The only thing we can change is what we do within our political system, and what we have been doing isn’t enough. So suck it up, buttercups, and get out there. And if you don’t actually commit to action, of doing something beyond just talking, I don’t want to hear another peep from you.

That was an excellent segment, and he is spot on. No one on the networks right now speaks for me like Tucker.
