Title: Trump Wants to Sue Cruz Unless He Apologizes for Ads
Post by: nddons on March 13, 2016, 08:00:41 PM
Is THIS the kind of man that you guys want for president?  Someone who wants to sue Ted Cruz unless he apologizes for his ads?

What a fucking small-dick pussy.

Point of order.

I don't think he's the man many of us on this forum want.

Apparently, he is the man the GOP voters want.

He's a man the majority of GOP voters don't want.

That's not what the delegate count says.  Of course, there are still a lot of states left.

Um...no.

He doesn't have a majority of delegates selected yet either.  He's also never gained a majority of votes in any state.

Even fewer have voted for Cruz.

I love the "majority don't want him" argument.  Of course this will happen when you have four candidates still running.  If Rubio were winning the majority of delegates and only getting 30 something percent of the vote would we still hear the same argument? How about Cruz or Kasich?  The next logical assumption for the group is that if Rubio dropped out all of his backers would switch to Cruz or Kasich.  The logic just isn't there, but it makes for a good bashing opportunity.

None of you seem to understand that Trump is doing so well because of the politicians currently running the country.  These are a lot middle class blue collar workers that have seen nothing done for them over the last 15 years or better.  They see illegals come into their country and take jobs away from citizens and the politicians, on both sides, do nothing.  In fact Rubio was part of the team trying to make them citizens.

I get that most of you probably don't know any of these individuals or may have never worked in a job with any of these folks so understanding this is hard from your protected world.

So no opinion about the original post?

I see it as campaign bluster.  And it would seem to be as much since there have been no suits filed.

When someone spends as much time in the public light as Trump he has to vigorously defend his name/etc., so I suspect this is old hat to him - I also suspect that in the business world the threat is usually enough to get the specific accommodation he wants - this will not be the case with Ted Cruz since he has no compunction about misrepresenting or outright lying about his opposition which means Trump will have to put up or shut up.

I know that the eligibility issue has been heard a couple times in Court now and Cruz won those to-date.  It could be there is more that Trump has found that would make Cruz ineligible but if that were the case he should use it to protect the system, or bury it and never mention it again.  It should not be a tool for getting an apology, and it raises an issue of being used negatively by the eventual Democrat candidate if Cruz were to win the nomination (which I still expect will happen with intervention by the Party over the next few weeks).

For those who still don't seem to get Trump's popularity, his willingness to defend himself aggressively is part of his appeal to many who are tired of running milquetoast candidate after milquetoast candidate who seem unable/unwilling to respond to attacks and lies and dangerous policy positions held by their opposition.

I would not do it the way Trump is doing it, but I am not running for President.

The story is over a month old, has he filed suit?   Should he not be able to file suit?
