Title: Writing a Constitution
Post by: Jaybird180 on March 17, 2016, 10:48:57 AM
Earlier this week, I completed writing the by-laws for my Family Reunion organization, of which I am the President. This is my 4th year holding that elected office. I inherited it when my maternal uncle died in office. We previously didn't have by-laws and I wrote it with the intent that it would be used in perpetuity much like the framers of the US Constitution did. We vote on the document this Saturday.

I decided to do similar to regulate my marriage and household. I declared that we are a Meritocracy that functions as a Monarchy. I haven't spoken to my wife about this new document yet. I would like to present it to her for her comments by tomorrow and then have it officially adopted soon after the children ratify it. Wish me luck.

Has anyone else done similar? This is not an easy task if you've ever done it, but I suppose it could be easier the more you do it (create organizations).

Boy, your family reunions must be TONS of fun.

And who's the Monarch?

Have you included a provision for amendments?

Have you included a provision for amendments?
That's probably the most important part  ;D

Why?

It's a "living" document, just reinterpret it as needed, no need to actually amend it.

Differences in interpretation is why the world is so screwed up now. If something is that important then clarify so everyone is in the same page (no pun intended).

I suspect your sarcasm was missed...
