Title: US Citizenship
Post by: JeffDG on March 24, 2016, 11:57:39 AM
Sorry, guys, venting here for a second.  Working on filling out my N-400 (https://www.uscis.gov/n-400) application for naturalization, and going through some of the oddball questions is bugging me.

I'm curious what US Citizens would think if they were asked by their government to answer these questions:

Quote
9.  Have you ever been a member of, involved in, or in any way associated with any organization, association, fund, foundation, party, club or society, or similar group in the United States or in any other location in the world?

Seriously...I have to list flying clubs I've been a member of, book clubs, etc.  I think I need to include the debate club I formed back in high school.

Quote
14.  Were you ever involved in any way with any of the following:
A.  Genocide
B.  Torture
C.  Killing, or trying to kill, someone?
D.  Badly hurting, or trying to hurt, a person on purpose?
E.  Not letting someone practice his or her religion?

Well, I guess I have to go back to my days as a hockey player.  I don't think I ever received a "match penalty" for deliberate injury or attempt to injure, but I have to make sure!  Also, is telling Jehovas' Witnesses to leave your property and not come back not letting them practice their religion?

Quote
18.  Did you ever sell, give, or provide weapons to any person, or help another person sell, give or provide weapons to any person?

Yes, I bought my brother a .22 rifle for his birthday one year.

Quote
19.  Did you ever receive any type of military, paramilitary or weapons training?

Yes, when I was 12 I did a "Firearm Safety, Hunter Education" class at school.

Quote
24.  Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

BTW, this includes every parking, traffic or speeding ticket you've EVER received, because it include "offense"

Quote
30.  Have you ever:
A.  Been a habitual drunkard?

Meh, that's nothing. Just wait until you get the American Community Survey:

I had the ACS less than a year after I moved to the US.  Plus they didn't charge $600 for the privilege of answering intrusive questions.

I refuse on Constitutional grounds.

Jeff just wants to get it really skunky so it tastes more like Canadian beer.

Now your really hitting below the belt.
I think the only good use I got out of Yankee  beer was in my radiator when the car over heated.
Was better than pissing in it, saved the  Labatts  for me .  ;D
Although , come to think of it, Budwieser was ok , just took a hell of a lot to get me feeling good.
Like a 24 case.  ::)

Molson Golden ale, circa 1970s,  best beer ever, by the mid 80s they wrecked it.

Good God...Molson and Labatts, that's the rat piss that Canadians feed to Americans so we can keep the proper beer for ourselves.

Was good stuff until they abandoned what worked to make more, quicker.
