Gawd how did I miss all that. Need more coffee.  I did notice he had the “wrong” eye shut but some people are right handed yet left eye dominant. Maybe a kid hasn’t figured out how to get his brain to keep both eyes open yet ignore the wrong image.

I doubt this applies to the kid, but I have pretty bad corneal scarring in the right eye making everything blurry in that eye.  During normal viewing, the right eye does help, but when sighting a rifle or looking through binoculars, I need to close the right eye and sight through the left to get a clear picture.

Can you assemble an AK with the magazine attached? Been 20 years since I've touched one.

I had similar problems with a severe cataract in my right eye.  I think I’m naturally right eye dominant but over the years my brain started ignoring the right eye image and I became left dominant or at best confused.  I had cataract surgery and then recently retinal tear and then secondary cataract, I think that eye is fixed. I need to get to the range and see if my brain can go back to right eye now.

What do you mean by "assemble"?  From it being field stripped?  Sure.

I much prefer the AR platform over the AK and even my Russian SKS's over the AK.  With stripper clips the SKS is almost as fast to reload as a mag change on an AK and my SKS's are more accurate.

The pic of the 2 guys behind the kid it's not completely assembled. You can see whatever the top piece is called on the pallets and them putting in or removing the guide rod.

Oh, and although it's good that that he doesn't have his finger on the trigger, I'd rather see his index finger straight and along the top of the trigger guard/bottom of the receiver.

Yes, he's removed the receiver cover.  There's a little button you press down on the back of the receiver which enables this part to be removed for field stripping.  From there you can remove the bolt, recoils spring, spring guide, etc.  All with the mag in place, but everyone with a brain removes the mag first, then checks the chamber for a round prior to field stripping.

Oh, you'll shoot your eye out kid.   ;)

Is it an artifact of the photo or is the suppressor not in line with the rest of the barrel?  Seems that it's bent down a little bit.

I remember that button being a pain in the ass to push down far enough on some rifles. Last time I shot one was the 74 version in the Marine Corps and that was probably in 2002.

It's not a suppressor or even a flash hider.  It's a muzzle brake to reduce muzzle lift.  More for full auto fire.  It does look a little canted down.  Idiots.

Yeah, I did mean flash suppressor, not like in silencer.  I'm not sure and too lazy to go upstairs to look... I think my M1A flash suppressor (flash hider, whatever) has a larger rib at the bottom to reduce dust and also to direct gas upwards to reduce muzzle lift.  Doesn't do much braking, though.

I think flash suppressor is the proper term. I thought you meant sound suppressor but obviously you know better. My mistake.   :)

Kid obviously having a picture taken.  There's no magazine in his weapon.  The bolt is closed, but I presume someone cleared it before handing it to a little kid.

Reminds me I still need to get a strap.

I'm horribly hurt and offended by your meanness so now I will go pout.  Maybe someone over at PoA will love me.
