Yesterday as I was driving around I noticed gas prices were $3.45 to $3.50/gallon. Today the same stations are $3.95/gallon give or take a few cents. Thank you Biden! Asshole.... Of course other reasons why the increase but I believe the current Resident in the White House is the main one.
-
Remember long ago Obama stated that $6 gas would be good for America.
-
1/18/2021 $2.109
3/3/2022 $3.699
Increase of 75%
Yesterday I did see a $3.799 and a $3.899
-
I paid 3.59 yesterday. $108 for 30 gal in my F-150.
Building back better all right. All the way back to 2009-2017.
-
But at least no mean tweets!
You guys should be grateful!
-
Few days ago filled up wife’s car at $3.18 at Wal Mart. Few hours later stop to fill up my truck and it’d had gone up to $3.45. Guess it’s like good wine, age increases the price? 🤔🙄

Right on cue.
This whole debacle was created to give the admin someone to blame everything on, and to conveniently drive up gas prices to force Americans off fossil fuels.
We are being played.

This Administration loves this war. I paid $4/gal yesterday.

Diesel is almost $4.50 here. (My car burns diesel.) It was $2.50 under Trump.

It's going higher. Exactly what the leftist are after.

They are once again being brazen on what the ultimate goal is, and if they need to destroy the economy and people's lives they are perfectly OK with that.

MS. HEINRICH: On gas, you just said that, you know, less supply raises prices, it’s not in our strategic interest to reduce the supply. We also know, you know, the president as recently as yesterday talked about increasing domestic manufacturing to bring down prices on inflated items like goods. So why not apply the same logic to energy and increase domestic production here?
MS. PSAKI: Well, there are 9000 approved oil leases that the oil companies are not tapping into currently. So I would ask them that question.
MS. HEINRICH: Is there nothing that the administration can do to get those providers back to pre-pandemic levels?
MS. PSAKI: Do you think the oil companies don’t have enough money to drill on the places that have been preapproved?
MS. HEINRICH: Just asking.
MS. PSAKI: I would, I would point that question to them and we can talk about it more tomorrow when you learn more.
MS. HEINRICH: Do you think that opening the Keystone pipeline and having more energy-friendly policies might do that?
MS. PSAKI: The Keystone Pipeline has never been operational. It would take years for that to have any impact. I know a number of members of Congress have suggested that, but that is a proposed solution that has no relationship or would have no impact on what the problem is. We hear all agree is an issue.
MS. HEINRICH: So during those years where it would take to bring down prices, as you’re saying, we should just continue to buy Russian oil?
MS. PSAKI: Well, again, Jacqui, I think you’re familiar with a number of steps. We’ve taken a historic release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. (crosstalk) Well, let me finish what we can do over time and what this is all a reminder of in the president’s view. Is there a need to reduce our reliance on oil. The Europeans need to do that. We need to do that, if we do more to invest in clean energy, more to invest in other sources of energy. That’s exactly what we can do to prevent this from happening in the future. We welcome any Republicans from joining us in that effort. Go ahead.
MS. HEINRICH: As long as we’re buying Russian oil, though, aren’t we financing the war?
MS. PSAKI: Well, Jacqui, again, it’s only about 10 percent of what we’re importing. I’ve not made any announcement about any decision on that front. But our objective here and our focus is making sure that any step we take maximizes the impact on President Putin and minimizes it on the American people. And anyone who’s calling for an end to the carveout should be clear that that would raise prices.

This is all based on a complete delusion. Even twenty years ago, when it was widely believed the world’s population, and oil consumption, would continue to rise, the reality was that we had centuries left before running out. 500 to 1000 years. Now, with new fracking technology, plus technological progress in energy efficiency, PLUS the now known fact that we are actually facing a population implosion, the truth is we will likely never run out of oil. Humans will go extinct before it happens.
Yet the fake cult of we’re about to run out of fossil fuel persists, the climate change religious mandate of switching from oil fueled vehicles to coal powered vehicles, the delusion that windmills and solar panels are the answer, as if mining and manufacturing for “green” energy doesn’t itself require fossil fuels.
Humanity is dependent on fossil fuel and the only way to stop that is to return to the Stone Age. Become roaming bands of prehistoric tribes cannibalizing each other just like we did for a million years before agriculture.
Another insane leftist delusion: Go vegan to “save the planet.” No more cow farts. How the hell do you grow all the plants they want us to eat exclusively? Fossil fuels. We can’t feed the world pushing hand plows.

It's a cult being run by people with mental disorders. But what's even more disturbing are the people that call themselves conservatives who absolutely refuse to do anything to curtail or attempt to stop this crap.
Now we have Dementia Joe wanting $10billion of our money to give to Ukraine. The Uniparty is lining up at the trough knowing another huge payday is coming. Oh, and it will be a 2000 page bill that no one will read chocked full of more of this liberal crap.
This country cannot and will not survive until 2024. Our government has broken down completely.

It would have if not for Russia invading Ukraine. Trump or DeSantis would have won in 2024 and we might have had a chance to get back to prosperity and a great America. Now it seems more likely we will end up tangling with Russia. Probably by proxy in Ukraine (if we aren’t already conducting covert CIA missions), possibly in Moldova, and maybe even in Finland. Possibly directly, which can have only two outcomes: either mutual nuclear destruction, or worldwide global dictatorship, whether with Putin at the head or the globalist elite (China, Democrats and fascist technocrats) at the head. Either way we the people are fucked. All because the Dems cheated a pathetic puppet into heading the U.S. giving Putin the chance to make his move.

I would love to see an accurate assessment of the number of barrels and percentage of imports coming from Russia per day or month or whatever. I have seen everything from 800,000 barrels/day (from a conservative) to 10,000 barrels/day (from a leftist.)
It’s as accurate as the science has been accurate lately, which is to say, is completely inaccurate.

Elon Musk says more fossil fuel production is needed now, even if it’s bad for his electric car company, Tesla Inc.
“Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately,” the billionaire tweeted Saturday, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine chokes off fuel supplies and drives up gas prices.
Musk signaled that the adoption of electric models and a wider shift to renewable energy couldn’t be accelerated fast enough to shield consumers from higher prices in the short-term.
“Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil & gas exports,” said Musk.

I have yet to see ANY explanation for why we're buying oil from Russia.

I have yet to see ANY explanation for why we're buying oil from Russia.
Different kinds of crude oil, some easier to refine for certain purposes than others.
Also, it could be because a certain class of oil is fungible, buying it from producer A or B doesn't matter much so long as total cost is least. Russian oil is likely low enough in cost that even after transport costs it may be cheaper than oil produced closer.

Russia crude oil is very low grade.
We’re buying it because the big guy doesn’t want Putin disclosing any “details”.

So follow the money, as with all things. Buying from Russia is just fine as long as it's cheap oil? The American Oligarchs keep doing business with Russian Oligarchs doing business with Chinese Oligarchs doing business with American Oligarchs and like always its the people who suffer.

Paid $4.20 yesterday for 87. It's going up daily and not just by a few cents, more like 20 or 30.

It’s insane. I looked at the state of our finances yesterday. The amount we are spending on gas, food and car repair/maintenance is out of sight. And that’s just the essentials. We’ve saved well for retirement so we’ll be okay, absent a total collapse of the economy, but what about the millions of people living paycheck to paycheck, raising families, trying to save for retirement. Why am I concerned about them and the millionaire politicians aren’t. You can’t tell me Biden (‘s puppet masters) give a shit about them. They KNEW canceling keystone and banning drilling would raise oil prices. They KNOW their policies cause inflation, hurt the economy and therefore poor and working class the most. They fucking know this or they are so fucking stupid it’s a wonder they remember to breathe.

Desperation.
The lunatic leftist behind the puppet Biden are desperate to get their new green deal implemented, mainly because they feel if they do Americans will rally around them and keep them in power.
They live in a bubble of the internet and social media and believe their own bullshit. They have succesfully triggered a war in which they believed would increase Biden's dismal poll numbers, get the attention away from problems in the US, and the cherry on top it would drive energy prices through the roof. These imbeciles have convinced themselves that high energy cost will force people into green energy, which at this point is no more than unicorn farts.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.

but but but, if you listen to what the maroons in the clown's admin claim, the keystone pipeline would take years to get online so therefore canceling it would have no impact...
right?

Imagine what the cost of everything we buy is going to do now. I also wonder if those folks with their big motor homes will be parking them for a while.
-
Imagine all they'd save on gas if the poor people would just go green and buy an electric car. The cheapest one is only $30,000. Surely poor people have that much saved up.

My tank is almost empty, I've scheduled an appointment with the CU loan officer tomorrow. ::)

Look at the potential delivery date. Other models are as far out as August.

High fuel prices will wreck the airline industry. Recreational activities (RV, Boating, Flying, etc) will take a nose dive. Car sales, especially trucks and SUV's will decline.
Food and basic necessities are only going to get more expensive. People will curtail vacations which in turn will impact the service industry and hospitality.
Amazon peddling their Chinese made crap will continue to prosper.
Follow. The. Money.

Personal transportation will be reserved for the elite class.

I'm already thinking of cancelling my RV trip from Ohio to South Dakota in August if gas doesn't get lower. Between 2 cruises, EAA, and other closer camping trips this year, this trip will probably get cut.

The lunatic leftist have no idea on the unicorn farts technology.
All of these batteries that will be clean energy are far, far from it. How do they think the minerals for the batteries are mined? How much destructive mining do they think happens to produce a battery? What countries control those minerals, and what is their record on the environment?
Elections have consequences. A big thanks to all those idiots that were so offended by tweets that they supported placing these fools in charge.

Husband just got back from filling our “new” 1980 Corvette with premium. $4.50 a gallon. Total $80. We won’t be driving that thing much, gets terrible mileage. Yesterday he filled our ‘91 BMW M5 and it was $4.30. Up $.20 in one day. I think regular is $3.50 here now. Well, as of 8:00 am anyway. Edit: Nope.... $3.90 now. As of 11:40.
The Corvette is his retirement project. Two weeks to go. And they have yet to hire his replacement. Don’t even have any candidates. We have a real crisis happening in technical fields right now. Too many gender studies grads and no useful people. His boss is asking if he’ll stay on and he’s saying “Nope. Too bad so sad. I gave you guys eight months notice.”
-
Filled up on the way home from church. Scored at $3.699 per gallon, $47.75 Let's Go Brandon!!!

Yesterday driving back home saw a tanker truck heading for a gas station. Wonder how high the price will go when he unloads. I'll check later.

So for now, that oil gets shipped by rail. Hmmm, doesn’t Warren Buffett own Union Pacific and Burlington Northern? Damn, we have our own home grown oligarchs.

I audit those carriers, you should see what’s happening to fuel surcharges. Paying for oil to haul oil. And corn, wheat, soybeans, rice, fertilizer, animal feed, all the stuff that goes into the food you buy on the grocery shelves.
I guess we’re going to haul all that stuff around with electric trains when the Dems manage to ban all fossil fuels for good. Big solar panels on top of the rail cars. Maybe windmills sticking up out the top. All you have to do is go faster to make the blades spin faster and make more electricity, right?

Just kidding you, hence the smiley. That's too bad, but at least you're out there in the world.
Again, the Democrat/Leftist MEDIA has convinced the Useful Idiots that pipelines are dangerous. They almost stopped one here that ran right next to a 100 year old one. Rarely do these have problems and if they do they're fixed and the remediation done quickly and completely. This transports natural gas from the fracking up north and west in PA.
-
Years ago I was at a Wings program presentation. The speaker was from the NTSB. He mentioned that pipeline is the safest form of transportation.
(Reminder, NTSB investigates pipeline accidents.)

No, I got it. I have some friends in western PA with some pumps on their land. I'll have to ask them how recent events are affecting the leases they have.

I was just talking to another friend down in Texas. He works in the oil industry. He's onsite at a oil refinery today. The facility, half owned by Russia. Not something that is making the news, and why Biden has no balls to cut off the flow of Russian oil.

To be fair we'd NEED to replace the Russian oil with something else, and the Democrats won't do it domestically so that means the Middle East, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, etc. I think the Saudi's have refused to pump more as that would lower their price, so we are pretty muck stuck. Putin know this as does the Biden Admin.

Yep. You are deplorable and a domestic terrorist if you:
Take an interest what your children are being taught
Gave a GoFundMe donation to the Canadian truckers
Got two jabs but don’t want a booster
Support voter ID
Are pro immigration but anti illegal immigration
Don’t keep your mask all the way up over your nose

There will be no turn around by the Democrats to boost domestic production, they've boxed themselves in at this point. Evidence is the attempt to negotiate with Venezuela.

And get ready to see the prices escalate even more.
Dementia Joe is going to announce a ban on Russian oil. Of course, he will not let our country produce more, so they will turn to the ME and Venezuela which will in turn raise their prices.
We are so fucked with these lunatics.

So according to my Texas oil field friend, it's all smoke and mirrors. They are ramping up production in Texas. But here's the rub. The oil fields they are drilling, owned by Venezuela and Russia. Already bought and paid for by us, and we will be buying more from them, and importing more from countries that don't like us. While no oil from Russia is going to be imported, we will just be pumping the oil from fields that they own in our country. I'll get more details tonight.

Why do I feel like this is a bunch of rich global elites playing a giant chess game where the pieces are young men being sent to die and common people all over the world trying to put food on the table? It's all fun and games to them. Even the threat of nuclear exchange; it's just trash talk. They're playing a giant virtual video game that doesn't affect them personally at all. None of this will hurt Putin's lifestyle, or Biden's or the corporate or celebrity multi-millionaires.

Probably because they've done it before and will keep doing it again.

They'll squeeze the economy just to the breaking point, then ease up. Just like the time before that, and the time before that, and the time...

And just like that, BootyJugs says public transportation and EVs are the solution to high gas prices.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/03/07/pete-buttigieg-promotes-electric-cars-public-transportation-as-solution-to-high-gas-prices/
https://babylonbee.com/news/nation-wishes-we-had-our-own-oil-we-could-dig-up-with-big-machines-and-then-transport-around-with-some-kind-of-pipeline
U.S.—With oil imports from Russia banned and gas prices continuing to rise, many around the nation report really wishing we had our own oil we could dig up with big machines and then transport around with some sort of pipeline.
"If only we had oil, and knew how to get it," said one local mom as she shelled out $300 for gas to take her kids to soccer practice. "Then maybe we wouldn't have to buy it from evil regimes around the world and gas prices would be lower. I know that's ridiculous, but it sure would be nice if that were possible!"
Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg says he commiserates with people who are struggling right now. "I do have a solution though," he said. "If you all just plop down $90K on an electric car and another 3 million on building a windmill in your backyard, you won't have to deal with these gas costs. I am smart!"
The scientific community says they are hard at work on a solution to the oil shortage but haven't found any options so far. "If only there was oil, and some way to get it out of the ground and transport it!" said all the scientists, scratching their heads.
Other scientists say they may have discovered an almost unlimited form of energy that is clean and safe that uses some sort of atomic fuel but that technology may be years away.

Kamala Harris later clarified Buttigieg's comments, saying: "Gas prices very high. But all the people have low money. That make buy gas hard. So, basically, that's bad."

I see a lot of people on facebook selling 1 yea old RVs. Not sure if they think there will be a huge market like last year and will make a profit, or they are panicking over gas prices and are trying to get rid of them.

Anything recreational that burns fuel is going to loose value. RV’s, boats, airplanes are gonna be money losers.

I made a $5,000 profit on my used RV last year. The new one I bought the beginning of last summer was being sold at the same dealer for $3000 more 2 months later.

Are they down to selling 1 year old SR-22s yet?

Sure. On sale!! $999,999 and you can fly it away.

More interesting info from the Texas oil fields. The oil we will be buying from Venezuela and Iran. Not their oil. They buy it from Russia and sell to suckers like us. They keep their own oil for their own purposes. They buy low and sell high. I'm sure they are wiping their tears of laughter with $100 bills right now.
Also, the oil from Russia and the Middle East is very heavy crude, meaning it's more difficult to refine and has more waste produced in the process, more expensive to produce, less environmentally friendly. The crude found in the U.S is a lighter crude. Easier to refine, less waste, less expensive to produce, more friendly to the environment.
Edit...you get more end product from refining lighter crude oil, too.

When driving by gas stations, I've noticed seeing guys on ladders updating pump prices pretty much every day.

Too logical. Either Biden and the left are evil sadistic psychopathic geniuses that are deliberately systematically destroying the middle class because they enjoy making people suffer, or they are deeply stupid.

Just paid 4.999 in Florida for Premium.

It's not Biden. Although if he is still cognizant, he's fine with it. It's who is running the Democrats and they want exactly that. Elite Royalty and serfs. No in between.

$4.49 for 87 and $5.29 for diesel in New Hampshire today. Most gas stations here change the signs remotely. One changed as I was driving by.

Crude oil prices plunging! Just kidding, lol! It’s already heading back up.

Oh yeah that’ll help:
https://apple.news/AhyZnHkV_OYyzVrhSFUfUyg
“The Environmental Protection Agency announced Monday stricter restrictions on emissions from trucks and buses.“
“ Seventy-two million people are estimated to live near truck freight routes in America, and they are more likely to be people of color and those with lower incomes. These overburdened communities are directly exposed to pollution that causes respiratory and cardiovascular problems, among other serious and costly health effects," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in the announcement Monday. "These new standards will drastically cut dangerous pollution by harnessing recent advancements in vehicle technologies from across the trucking industry as it advances toward a zero-emissions transportation future."
I bet those people of color with lower incomes are more concerned about $7 a gallon gas and higher food prices than the theoretical risk of future disease. Does the EPA or Kamala Harris explain the connection between expensive new trucks and costs being passed on down to consumers?
Here’s an idea: Stop strangling the economy so low income people can be upwardly mobile. Low income itself is the biggest cause of bad health in disadvantaged groups for many reasons way beyond smoggy air.

Another solution looking for a problem. I wonder how small our tax burden would be if Dems would stop playing this game.

The EPA needs to be reduced by 90% or eliminated altogether. There should never be regulations like this forced on the people with no say in it. The whole concept of regulatory agencies is flawed: The alphabet agencies are arguably the biggest waste of taxpayer dollars and biggest source of damaging economic policy in the country. Look at the destruction the CDC alone did the past two years.

Agree. Plus EVERY State has their own EPA type agency which also enforces both Fed and State environmental regulations. They're often Nazis also. So why do we need to fund both?

Short answer, we don't. This should be a state problem and controlled at the state level, if the state sees it necessary.
FedGov is way too large and intrusive. Many of the agencies have been weaponized against the citizens. Too many mid level and SES level government employees making policies and regulations that are damaging but they go unchecked and aren't held accountable.
Our previous President implemented a rule for every new regulation introduced two had to be removed first. He also was working to reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy. Now we have the lunatic leftist behind Biden that are increasing regulations and increasing the size of government, as well as making it more intrusive.
I'm old enough to remember the liberals saying republicans were the party of big government, the republicans were war mongers and how the republicans wanted higher taxes. My my how times have changed.

Trump cutting regulations was one of the best things about him and largely fueled our economic boom, and the Biden administration doing the reverse on top of an already damaged economy due to covid lockdowns is absolutely destroying us, will likely lead to another Great Depression. That is, unless he gets us blown to oblivion by Russian nukes first.
“Liberals” have become the Nazis they rage about. Identical to Putin calling the Ukrainians Nazis when it’s Putin himself channeling Hitler’s ghost.

The takeover of the democrat party is complete as the lunatic leftist are firmly in control. They've ripped the mask off. They want a CCP style totalitarian government, and are willing to send millions to their deaths to achieve their end.
Problem is our conservatives still haven't figured out how to counter act them, and frankly are spineless weaklings. The UniParty in DC is raping and looting the treasury while destroying our currency.
And we still have people who are more interested in sports and celebrity worship who have never seen a ballot.
-
BTW, the leftist want ballot drop boxes.
So let's start setting them up at every gas station and grocery store checkout area. and start voting for the midterms now. ;)

Yep, throw some crumbs out there to quiet the peasants. And of course, put it in a 2,000+ page bill chocked full of goodies to benefit the UniParty.

Speaking of elections, Putin was supposed to step down in 2024, as he would have completed his second consecutive term, and in 2018 he announced that he would step down. But now he says he will run again in 2024, just like Biden (who he “admires”, LOL). How’s that? Because a change in the constitution in 2020 eliminated the two term limit. The amendment was proposed by Putin himself and voting on the constitutional amendment was conducted in person and online. Because covid. Online. Yeah. Like that had a chance of not being rigged.
So Putin is A. A liar, and B. A dictator. He used covid to consolidate power exactly like the Democrats in the U.S. did, by using covid to not require in person voting. The Democrat administration and Putin are like twin faces of evil. They’re going to end up facing off in WWW3 and get the rest of us killed.

Keep in mind this is spinning out of control not just because of the leftist, but more importantly the ones we elected to represent us and supposedly be the check and balance of government have also abandoned us to join in with the UniParty and reap the rewards.
Voter apathy has done it's damage.

That’s the silver lining of war. Wakes us the hell up. We are as we are because the Greatest Generation secured freedom in the west then sired a bunch of baby boomers that prospered so well we got spoiled. Gen X and Millennials even worse. Korea, Vietnam and the Mideast don’t count because they never threatened our homeland 9/11 notwithstanding. Complacency, the deadly enemy of pilots, infected voters.

If we need to depend on Millennials, we are screwed
