11 March 2022 Boston Herald has an article about the change in definition and one result is that the maskachusetts covid death count drops over by about 3700.
"Currently, the COVID death definition includes anyone who has COVID listed as a cause of death on their death certificate — and any individual who has had a COVID diagnosis within 60 days but does not have COVID listed as a cause of death on their death certificate. [emphasis mine] The updated definition will reduce this time frame from 60 days to 30 days [emphasis mine] for individuals without a COVID diagnosis on their death certificate."
Isn't that amazing... Die within 30 days of having a covid diagonisis and it will still be counted as a covid death.
Perfectly putrid data.
Also noteworthy: “Prior to the CSTE (Council of State and Territorial Epide- miologists) definition, states did not have a nationally recommended defini- tion for COVID-19 deaths and, as such, have been using a variety of processes and definitions to count their deaths."

Those of us who are intelligent have known all along that the statistics about covid19 are pure complete bullshit. There is no standardization and no accountability, there are money incentives, there is sloppy counting, like counting the same person who tested positive twice 3 days apart as two cases, there is no counting, (all the people who were told not to come in, were never tested, who probably had it but weren’t counted which means the death rate is much lower than we think.) There are false positives and false negatives. There are testing cycle counts arbitrarily set. There is parameter fudging like this 60 vs 30 day count, again - arbitrary. We really cannot draw any conclusions whatsoever beyond the broadest guesswork. Reporting protocols vary nevermind by state, but by county and nevermind other countries.
It’s understandable that it’s difficult to get an accurate handle on reality, that’s to be expected. The problem is that policy was set using this mishmash of unreliable data. Policies that have had catastrophic effect on society, the economy and the world.

From the beginning, I said if I see people dying in the streets and the meat wagon going door to door to collect bodies, then I'll be concerned. Never saw anything even remotely close. Still don't know anyone who died from Covid nor that had it and had anything but minor Flu symptoms. What an effing joke.

Yep, exactly my story as well.

I had two or three relatives in their 90s die of it. That’s all I personally know. Everyone else I personally know that got it either had a very mild case like a mild cold or were sick like with the flu for a couple or three weeks then got better. I would call those major flu symptoms, they were pretty miserable but no worse than a non-fatal case of flu.

90s? So it was Covid not old age. The virus did what the Flu virus would probably do. That's their purpose. Cold but true.

There is no telling how long they would have lived if they hadn’t got covid. Maybe they would have got regular flu and died. In any case they were likely to die within a few short years if not months anyway. I’m sorry but no, destroying the economy and the livelihoods of young working people on the off chance of maybe keeping extreme elderly from getting it so staying alive a short while longer is not worth it.

Imagine how certain people would react if vaccination deaths were counted the same way as covid-19 deaths.

What vaccination deaths????

I've heard FoaF stories of people dying from Covid, but personally know of no one.
