News to me. Did a quick search (using duckduckgo) to find out what the deal was and came across this web page wherein the guy rates a bunch of search engines I never heard of using some test queries that he lists at the end of his article:

I'd never heard of Yandex, which did the best at 9 of 10. Problem is, it is based in Russia and got kicked out of the Ukraine in 2017.
Second best was Bing at 7 of 10.
