Title: Rationing has started
Post by: jb1842 on October 28, 2022, 10:32:16 AM
Communist rationing has started in my area. My local Sam's Club stops the gas pumps at $50.00. Good thing I don't need a full tank and am too lazy to swipe my card and pump again. Let's see how bad this will get. I heard diesel is going to be worse.

We currently have a 25 day supply of diesel fuel in the U.S.  After that EVERYTHING STOPS

That’s not because of rationing - it’s because of credit limits

How? Wasn't that way last week.

Did Steingar take over your PS account Bob?

Because you can’t be that naive. $50?  I don’t think so.

If he used a debit card instead of a credit card I could see a station setting a lower limit than typical.

It was a credit card. My chip is starting to wear out and I had to swipe it twice for it to take.

Was there something in the Wall Street Journal that mentioned about the $50. Nothing else in that thread explains it, and I'm not paying to read the article.

I was referring to my post (starting the thread) - I've twice hit the $50 limit at the pump, once in March and once in July.  Simply a dollar limit at the pump.  And both times I simply swiped my debit card again (both times for less than $2 to finish filling the tank.

There was nothing to suggest rationing..

I’ve literally never had the pump stop at that low of a dollar amount.  I have a 36 gallon tank in my F-150, and back during Obama’s reign of terror, I had the pump stop at $90 or $100, but never as low as $50.

Maybe you need to use a different gas station.

I've never put $50 worth of gas into my car before (max tank size of 15 gallons... except for the '75 Ford LTD with 24 gallons).

I actually go to this particular selfserve station because it doesn't blare advertising at me while filling the tank.  F the marketing pukes.

My MG doesn't hold nearly that much.

I hit $175 at Buc-ees today and that was their limit.  I could have taken a few more gallons.

Diesel and a 55 gallon tank is pretty damaging right now.

The generator at the office is 200 gallons.  That one is going to hurt next time it needs to be filled.
