Let me explain how this works:

When it's the democrats investigating a republican, a whistleblower is a patriot, an American hero that deserves to be heard, and must be believed.  And protected.

When its a republican investigating a democrat, all allegations are unsubstantiated, a whistleblower is a liar with an agenda that should be prosecuted, and is damaging "our democracy".  They are to be discredited, smeared and destroyed, and forced into hiding.
