The Trusted News Initiative is a unique global partnership bringing together organisations across media and technology to tackle harmful disinformation in real time. The partnership focuses on moments of potential jeopardy, that could threaten life or the integrity of democracy, particularly during elections.
Partners alert each other to high risk disinformation so that content can be reviewed promptly by platforms, whilst publishers ensure they don’t unwittingly share dangerous falsehoods.
Increasing understanding of how to address harmful disinformation, and ways to report it, is a core part of the TNI. Regular forums allow partners to share their insights and editorial or technological best practice. This learning is also shared publicly through an annual conference featuring speakers from across the partner organisations.
The disinformation landscape is ever-evolving and TNI partners are exploring new engineering approaches to tackle the issue. This includes supporting initiatives such as Project Origin (https://www.originproject.info) and C2PA (https://c2pa.org) to help to maintain confidence in news from trusted providers.

Wow.

If only it would work

If only it would work
It will work.........for their intended purpose, which is to label everything they disagree with as "misinformation".
-
Entirely redundant. The old system worked fine to bottle up the news of Hunter Biden's laptop.

This is Nazi Germany, and Soviet Union stuff. Why are so many willing to give up free speech, their guns, and freedom in exchange for subjugation.
Did my Dad serve in WWII for nothing? He was an Army Dental Officer. ;D

X is reportedly halving its global team responsible for combatting election misinformation, a reduction that leaves the site less prepared than ever to curb problematic content and seems to contradicts the company's reassurances that it was actually adding to those ranks.
The company, which was formerly known as Twitter, has cut each member of the team based in Dublin, including the group's head, according to The Information. The team may now total no more than six people, most of them based in North America.
X's decision comes less than a month after it said it would expand its safety and elections teams, a pledge that CEO Linda Yaccarino reiterated in a recent Financial Times interview. (The company didn't immediately respond to The Messenger's request to comment.) It raises questions about how effectively X can handle content connected to the 2024 election, as well as the dozens of other local elections in the U.S. and around the world.

"handle content" is the whole problem. They have no business manipulating it in any way. Just let everyone say and post whatever they want and do not promote or demote any of it.
That's free speech.
