Title: Republican leaders consider rewriting convention rules
Post by: Lucifer on April 15, 2016, 09:41:03 AM

No no no.......we've already been told this can't happen and party insiders won't be able to influence the convention.

In an interview, Yue said his proposal would give greater control to delegates, adding transparency to what would be the first open convention in a generation. Under the current system, he argued, too much power is in the hands of a presiding officer – a role that is expected to be filled by House Speaker Paul Ryan – who leads the proceedings and could be susceptible to influence by party insiders.

Party Insiders, just like any other delegate, can propose whatever rules they want.  The delegates as a whole decide the rules.

Exactly.   It's disturbing that so many people have this boogy man fear of Pribus or "the establishment" as if they have control over the grown men and women from the 56 states and territories who are likely paying their own way to Cleveland, only to be denied a voice in the nomination because they believe that a single person who is employed by the GOP can make whatever rules he wants.
