What do you think of this? To me it seems pathetic, dishonorable and unfair. Someone sitting safely at a distance remotely operating a drone. The guy is unarmed even.

a couple of thoughts (no, I'm not prior military) (and, I can't see the video, so I'm kind of shooting blind here...)
if the complaint is that someone is using a drone to attack an unarmed? guy, I think the notion that somehow the military should fight fair is ludicrous. No one should complain about overwhelming military force... as long as the use of military force is appropriate.

Here is an article containing another video of the same idea.

How terrified were the people in London in 1940 and 1941?
How terrified were the people anywhere when being bombed?
But forget the civilians, soldiers should not expect to be terrified in a war zone?
Or am I misunderstanding your question in your first post?

No different that a CAS platform or jet dropping bombs at height. War isn't supposed to be fair.

My question is simply what do you guys think? Especially combat vets but anyone is welcome to weigh in.
Perhaps I should not have expressed my emotional reaction up front, because it misleads you into thinking I disapprove and am judging.
My intellectual position is that I don’t have enough information. Possibly drones killing individual men result is less overall death as, I dunno, maybe they target only the ones venturing out instead of the entire barracks in the back with a rocket or something.
But I’m having a visceral fear reaction to this technology, because it will be deployed - is already being deployed - against civilians by their own governments. Not for killing - yet - but for surveillance and intimidation. China is doing it everywhere. In the U.S. local police are using drones to “see” into people’s back yards over privacy fences.
I don’t judge individuals directly engaged in combat. The Ukrainians actually operating these drones are avoiding putting themselves in danger which is just them surviving which is their job. I do judge the men (and women) pulling their strings: Zelensky, Putin, Biden and all the feds and MIC approving funding the continuation of this war.
Putin is ready to come to the table with the exact terms I myself suggested in the very first months of the war, which he was ready to do the very first summer of the war but was shut down by the West (specifically Boris Johnson iirc). But then he’s the one who started it and I think he only wants to end it now because he is running out of young men to send to the meat grinder and sees he can never overtake all of Ukraine as long as the U.S. is backing Ukraine, and mostly because he knows Trump will probably win in November and will force an end to it with worse terms for Russia including the threat of “dropping a bomb on Moscow”.
But here’s the difference between these drones and y’all’s comparisons to bombing from a plane, artillery or tanks that can kill from a distance: All those are way more expensive than these drones. The drones are a dime a dozen and this war is demonstrating very visibly to the world how easily they can be deployed. They are going to end up all over the place being run by cartel members, terrorists, and psychopaths as well as the worst terrorists of all: governments.

Let me steer this a little bit off topic. Would the Government be inclined to use this technology against its citizen, you know, us domestic terrorists.

That’s exactly where I think this is headed.

Okay, maybe it’s not as unfair as it appears.

“At the moment the drone operator is one of the most dangerous jobs. The enemy knows we are the eyes of our army. As soon as they locate a drone operator, they use all kinds of weaponry: barrel artillery, MLRS, tanks,” Graf says.
“We have high rate of casualties among the pilots, the enemy is always looking for us.” Graf says.
By “pilots” he’s talking about the drone operators. The Russians have drones too, including reconnaissance drones to help them locate and target drone bases. So it’s not like they’re sitting in Mom’s basement on the other side of the planet playing video games which was my first impression.

Soon we'll have drones fighting drones, land, sea and air.

Biological warfare is here, and has far more reaching problems than drones.
And as a country, we are doing nothing to stop it.

The Wuhan lab is still up and running?

The Wuhan lab is still up and running?
They are all around the world, many being funded by the US. One Chinese lab has already weaponized anthrax to dangerous levels. God only knows what else.
Yes, Wuhan (operated by the PLA) is working away.
The world should have held China responsible for covid-19, as well as Fauci and his group. Big Pharma is the new MIC.
