Trump campaign’s adviser for veterans issues can’t account for $6 million raised for veterans’ charities by the billionaire—and from the sounds of it, couldn’t care less.
...
What these investigations have yielded is a solid conclusion that, thus far, Donald Trump and his non-profit have dispensed, at maximum, about half of the $6 million to the listed beneficiaries. Nearly three months—85 days—have passed since the fundraiser.
“I don’t track that,” Baldasaro told The Daily Beast. “I’m not concerned about it, because I know [Trump is] an honorable, honest guy… you guys just want to say, ‘gotcha.’”
Baldasaro tried to minimize his responsibility in the issue, saying that “it’s not that I’m the lead veterans adviser” or a paid staffer. But then he later acknowledged that he’s “the only one that talks about veterans for Trump.”

There are numerous elements which need to be in place to properly donate funds. It could be the recipient group is run by those dumb as stumps and don't even have a bank account.

It can also be difficult to discern the deserving from the scoundrel "veteran look-alike" groups.
And did anyone really ever expect that ALL the revenue would be donated without first paying the substantial overhead.

You'd think that competent people would work that out before promising to donate the money to them in the first place.

Yeah, silly expecting Trump to do what he promised. His promises are just pandering for the moment, and will be forgotten now that he's pivoting.

FTFY

Given the show that Trump made out of denying Iowans the opportunity to see him debate in their state so he spent time raising money for veterans ("veterans" - key word - who could be against veterans??? Certainly not the good Iowa caucus goers), you would think Trump would pick up the "overhead", instead of claiming credit for the gross dollar amount going to "veterans" when a much smaller net amount is going to them.

A delegate for Donald Trump from Charles County, Maryland was indicted this week on charges related to illegal transport of explosives, possession of a machine gun and child pornography.
Yep, best and brightest right there folks.

To quote the late great Warren Zevon:
"Send lawyers, guns and money,
The shit has hit the fan."
That should go on the back of every "Make America Great Again" hat.

Many of the best minds are criminals. What was the guy hired to do for Trump? Perhaps he was the best at what he did.
No matter how hard you try, you can never be certain that an employee will not do something illegal. You can test qualifications and check out history, but you can't read minds or predict the future.
If guilty, Trump should fire him and the guy should be punished.
But logic and reason will never get you to stop this so just carry on and let the rest of us laugh at you.

Vote for Trump at the convention.

Hell, even a stupid criminal can do a great job of that!

But Trump claims he only surrounds himself with the best and brightest.

I thought delegates were selected by the state's party guidelines and not "hired" directly by the candidate.

The candidate says who they want for their delegates, or at least competent candidates do. The Trump campaign specifically appointed a KKK guy in CA as one of their guys.

Maybe it's my interpretation but it appears someone is of the opinion that "the best" equals "perfect". It hasn't been stated directly but many posts lead me to this conclusion.

Excellent demonstration of a straw man, or is it your contention that people are either "perfect" or pedophiles and KKK members?

WASHINGTON — Six months before he entered the presidential race, Donald Trump announced a new real estate project in Baku, Azerbaijan. His partner was the son of a government minister suspected by U.S. diplomats of laundering money for Iran’s military and described as “notoriously corrupt.”
Eighteen months later, and only weeks after daughter Ivanka Trump released a publicity video of the nearly finished project, references to the Baku project have disappeared from Trump’s website. Trump’s general counsel, Alan Garten, told The Associated Press that it was on hold for economic reasons.
Quite the vetting process he's got going there.

A straw man requires an attack to be made upon the initial statement. There was no attack made hence no straw man.
*EDIT* refer to reply #20

It does? And here I thought it was a debate tactic based on the fallacy of giving the impression of refuting one's opponent's argument while actually refuting an argument that was not advanced by your opponent.

You are correct and I was wrong. The attack is from the person responding to the opening salvo. I'll take 30 lashes for making the error.
