The ads are now extremely aggressive. Most content is too painful to endure. I listened to Bill Maher and Dave Rubin on Club Random, a 2 hour conversation and it was interrupted mid-sentence (of course) every 5 or 10 minutes with ads you could not skip. It was the last straw. Maher needs to get on rumble. Rumble will have two ads you can skip up front, then some at the end but doesn’t interrupt you during.
This is on my iPhone or iPad Safari. I don’t have any adblockers on them yet and don’t know if they will work.
On the PC in FireFox the adblockers work, but apparently only if you do not have a YouTube account. My husband has one and he says they don’t work when you are signed in.
Do any of you watch YouTube on Safari without having an account and if so do you know if the iOS Safari adblockers work?

I haven’t had that happen yet but I haven’t listened to music in the past week and it seems the change has been very recent. I’m almost afraid to try to listen to a song because if an ad interrupts a song I will become enraged. That should be a crime!
They’re obviously trying to force you to pay a subscription for what, premium? I REFUSE to give them money.

Youtube sucks unless I need to repair something, watch airplane vids, or the 1 podcast I watch; 2 Bears 1 Cave. Yes, my sense of humor is, as polite society would say, a little fucked up. I hate the popup asking to upgrade my membership more than I do advertisers.

with firefox, I've been running into videos that claim my browser can't play the video. Really, it's the ad blocker. A different firefox profile (without adblocer) plays it just fine, after the first 6 seconds or so of some stupid ad. Some of the videos that insist on playing ads are really ludicrous... a video with something like 91 views on a channel with a whooping 272 subscribers.... and they are attempting to monetize a video of a choir singing a song belonging to someone else.

I almost don’t want to post this because I am afraid I will jinx it, but here goes. For the last couple of days there have been ZERO ads on YouTube. None at all, except the promotions the content creators themselves do. None of the skip in 5 seconds, none of the unskippable, no interruptions in any of my videos. I did not change anything. I didn’t install an adblocker. They’re just… all gone.
