Some idiot on Twitter was trying to tell me it couldn’t be icing because the temps were in the 60s there. ::)
-
Level at 17,000’. Looks like a flat spin. Possibly iced up, stalled, and entered the spin. I flew the ATR-72 for a couple years. There’s a baggage compartment in the rear, and another between the cockpit, er, ‘cuse me, flight deck, and the cabin. Could of been out of CG. Definitely had moisture so icing possible too. When the Roselawn Ind ATR -72 iced up and crash tests were done and modifications made to the wing. I forget what they were but if interested I’m sure a search would say.
Funny thing about the ATR was the square cup holders so our round coffee cups didn’t fit. French thing I guess lol. Also had a damn horn button, which no one could hear out on the ramp. Fun plane to fly though. .

Saw that too on Brown’s review of the accident om youtube.
One time I was taxing in to the gate at GNV and a company jet was taxing out for takeoff with both pilots female. I knew the Capt so I asked “hey they still call it a cockpit” to which she replied “negative it’s a box office” without missing a beat.
