Title: Can't remember seeing anything like this recently.

If we can get off the ground and away from the East Coast we should be ok. Getting back could be tricky.

Thank goodness we weren’t hit directly yet, nor had any damage from flooding or spin off tornadoes but they were all close enough. The worst we had was extended power outages. Others in our neighborhood had flooding and fences blown down and stuff, but the people that built our house had the foresight to bump up the grade a few feet. We have ended up looking like a little island with water all around us on several occasions.

Our homeowners premium is more than twice what it is for my mother’s house, and our house is only worth half as much as my mother’s. Which is a factor of four times more premium, due, presumably, only to it being in a hurricane zone. And on top of that we also must have a separate flood insurance policy.

True, but the % is only for the next 7 days. They could either dissipate or strengthen. This time of year they are most likely to strengthen. Almost every major hurricane started out yellow.

5.2 inches last night. 3 today. 1 1/2 Tuesday. 1.2” Monday.

The damage will be from the rain not the winds associated with hurricanes this year, I think.
