Rudy Giuliani for AG. Or FBI director.

Yep.
-
Steve Bannon for Attorney General.

No, I'm thinking Mike Davis, Trump's attorney who told New York AG Letitia James:
"I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump.... listen here, sweetheart, we're not messing around this time, and we will put your fat ass in prison for conspiracy against rights."

let's not stoop to the dem's level.
I’m of two minds on this and haven’t decided yet which to go with. Probably some split in the middle. Judiciously choose the worst offenders and severely punish them as examples, then show mercy to the rest, as long as they show remorse.
-
Here's a thought: "Let's follow the laws and system as designed".
What a concept! We have a great legal system, all that needs to be done is follow it.
Of course, anything a conservative administration does (even if they follow the same principals the dims used) will be called revenge. Even if the conservatives follow the book exactly, the dims and their propaganda media will twist and distort it.
The two systems of justice is reserved for progressives only.
BTW, has anyone noticed how quiet Merrick Garland has become?

I agree, with some adjustment. Severely punish management that broke the rules. They should have known better. Removal from their agency, stripped of pension, of course remove their security clearance, and anything else that is appropriate. But for the rank and file, those "just obeying orders", what do you do with them? Call them in on the carpet with the new manager and get read the rules. Obey or be gone.

If the rank and file were just obeying orders (morally they shouldn’t but you fear for your job, you have a family to feed, etc.- it’s understandable) that’s one thing but if you’re a rank and file and go beyond on your own, that’s another. But I agree, it’s the management that should be held accountable. They have power over others, not only the victims denied FEMA help, but also over their subordinates. These people get off on controlling other people. It’s a fine line between being a good leader and being an evil psychopath.
Power corrupts or the corrupt seek power, it’s chicken and egg, but either way the founders wisely knew it and designed our government so that no one individual could ever gain too much power. They never envisioned a massive bureaucracy with lifetime unelected individuals in positions of control over so much of our lives.

Absolutely. I give Rubio a year and he'll be replaced.

Rubio has been named. HUGE MISTAKE!
I’m surprised at that one. Little Marco Rubio? Does Trump know something we don’t? His pick of JD Vance I have come to think was brilliant, and I did not see that coming. I wonder if Rubio is going to pull off some kind of foreign affairs miracle. Given what’s going on in the world this is maybe the most critical appointment of them all, with the exception of VP and possibly border czar but maybe it’s a tossup between those which is more important.
-
Kristi Noem - Homeland Security
Rumor has Vivek replacing Vance in the Senate
-
Here’s one guy’s opinion on why he’s doing that. Not saying he’s right. I don’t recall Trump ever doing prophylactic appeasement out of fear of future attacks but maybe I missed it. Because why would he assume the establishment republicans won’t betray him anyway? Besides, why would he compromise such an important position when everything in his personality is dedicated to getting a job done and not worrying about petty political attacks such as impeachment?
There’s gotta be a reason he thinks Rubio is best for that job. I can’t imagine what it is though. I mean Rubio is rabidly pro-Israel and supports supporting Israel but not by directly involving the U.S. in war afaik. Does he have some sort of awesome negotiation skill we don’t know about? Experience with other nations not in this hemisphere? I didn’t think so but to be honest I have not paid that much attention to Rubio.
https://x.com/recceinv/status/1856397519749587389
Trump is giving mild neocons positions so establishment republicans in congress don’t jump ship and confirm the impeachment that dems will eventually deliver onto him.

That is also what I hear.

I’m negative on Rubio, but Ben Shapiro made some good points in favor of it. Rubio is critical of Ukraine funding, saying all we are funding is a draw, not a victory, and the best thing to do is end it now.

From my perspective as a current resident of SD and former resident of OR, CA, and MN I can compare first hand how she fared compared to other governors. She has done quite well and IMVHO she is up to the job. More so than, say, Janet Napolitano was.
Anyway, what specific actions or statements of hers can you cite that trash her entire career being buffoonery?
I appreciated that she didn't impose mask mandates nor state-wide lockdowns when nearly every other governor did and made a simple but elegant libertarian explanation for why she chose not to exercise such powers.

"Department of Government Efficiency"
talk about a target rich environment and talk about putting a bullseye on your back...
Perhaps this explains that:
Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will co-lead a newly created Department of Government Efficiency, an entity Trump indicated will operate outside the confines of governmentt.

Well I got an unhinged text from my lefty brother about how Trump is going to bring total authoritarianism to the country. What Trump is doing here is the exact reverse of authoritarianism. Massively slashing government control over the private market by cutting regulations and cutting bureaucratic rule over our lives, and hopefully greatly reducing the proportion of the GDP that the feds suck out of the economy.
My brother must get all his news from the irrelevant lying biased mainstream media. He also said Trump will implement all of project 2025. I give up. Let him stew in his delusions. I’m not even going to try with him anymore.
-
and, of course, people will attack Musk and Vivek rather than admit anything about government inefficiencies.
Musk and Vivek are strong enough and intelligent enough to handle any and all attacks. Can you just imagine the waste they will discover at the federal level? Gonna be fun and interesting to watch.

Do you think we've ever had a Government Department or employee that tried to figure out a way to eliminate their job or department?
-
Do you think we've ever had a Government Department or employee that tried to figure out a way to eliminate their job or department?
The game in government is this: We need to look at (project name) and how we will address this.
Will put Wilbur Doodlefuck in charge (GS14). Wilbur screws around and then tells his manager (K band) that he will need an assistant (GS13). Then they decide they need a secretary (GS11).
Now the manager needs a supervisor to report to him, so he places a (J band) to supervise. Now they say the project has many sub projects, so 5 new GS 12’s are brought in to work under the GS 14 who reports to the J band who reports to the K band.
Now the division manager is a part of the SES, he has a new department under him which increases his responsibility, so on his performance review he gets a nice pay raise and a bonus.
Now the regional manager decides they need more people, so now the department expands to a couple of more J band supervisors, a management assistant (GS14), a receptionist (GS10) and more GS 12’s.
So they now have a budget of $5 million/year. Next year they project a budget of $6 million.
But they are told there will be a projected 10% budget cut due to Congress. Now you and I will assume that budget cut is from this years budget. Nope, next years projected budget.
So they actually get a budget increase of about 10% while complaining they had to cut the budget.
Make sense now?
-

I appreciated that she didn't impose mask mandates nor state-wide lockdowns when nearly every other governor did and made a simple but elegant libertarian explanation for why she chose not to exercise such powers.
My perception is that she is a climber, and tried to embellish her record to impress Trump. For example, embellishing meeting with Kim Jong Un. I also saw a fairly disastrous interview with Stuart Varney. There’s also her alleged affair with Corey Lewandowski. I thought she was climbing for VP and was damaging Trump’s brand in the process. Why would he want to deal with that potential controversy?
Obviously Trump didn’t ask her to be Veep, but also apparently isn’t concerned about such things as I was at that time, given her nomination to DHS.
She also has no military or law enforcement experience, which I would think is necessary for DHS.
Perhaps Trump put her in there to dismantle the agency, which I would totally support. In that case it was a good move.
-
DeSantis is a solid choice, too. But if the trend is to put up the current VP up on the next election, I don't see DeSantis running as VP for Vance.
I was as big of a DeSantis supporter as anyone, but I do think JD Vance brings an element of realness that DeSantis may lack. I was against JD as his pick early on, but I was wrong. He is brilliant.
-
Perhaps this explains that:
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-says-elon-musk-vivek-ramaswamy-will-lead-department-government-efficiency-2024-11-13/
Interesting. That avoids having Congress approving of a new department, and the delays of confirmation. I wonder how Trump negotiates the Constitutional question of a department outside of the Executive branch.
-
Do you think we've ever had a Government Department or employee that tried to figure out a way to eliminate their job or department?
I worked in government. It was just county level but I’m sure it’s exactly the same at all levels. Everyone protects their little fiefdom, fiscally and in every other way. It can’t be any other way, because they’re invested as it’s their livelihood. People working in the private sphere do the same. But in government it’s taxpayer money, taken by force, whereas in the private sphere driven by the profit motive, it’s transactional between voluntary parties for a good or service (in the purist sense; absent government meddling) which motivates you to do better.
The government job has no such productive motive since the taxpayer has no choice but to pay, and your accountability has little to do with results and more to do with how well you cozy up to your boss who cozies up to his, and on up the chain til you get to whatever political powers ultimately fund your department and that ultimately goes back to the voters, but is a very indirect route to accountability for an individual government employee.
The voters are manipulated by promises of gimme gimmes which enables this growth of government (not just entitlements, but things like ideologies, such as I promise to stop climate change). But the voters can also be pushed past their tolerance and I think that’s what’s happened with Trump’s massive win. Too many voters have woken up to the fact that the federal government has grown way out of control and all these bureaucrats do not in fact make our lives any better, and we are paying way too much in taxes and getting nothing in return.
-

I wasn’t particularly against him but I thought there were way better picks. I too was wrong. Now I think he was the best by far.
-
Interesting. That avoids having Congress approving of a new department, and the delays of confirmation. I wonder how Trump negotiates the Constitutional question of a department outside of the Executive branch.
The DOGE won’t be making the cuts, they will compile data and recommendations, then give it to the executive for them to take action.
-
Musk and Vivek could cut at least 50% of the Federal government as States have duplicate agencies that get both Fed and State funding that actually do the work.
-
I was as big of a DeSantis supporter as anyone, but I do think JD Vance brings an element of realness that DeSantis may lack. I was against JD as his pick early on, but I was wrong. He is brilliant.
JD has changed my mind, too. I still have my fingers crossed he doesn't turn out like Paul Ryan, though.

Tulsi for Director of National Intelligence. Good choice. Cabinet-level position. The CIA statutorily reports to her, and all other intelligence agencies report to the DNI, though DNI doesn’t have budgetary authority over them. It’s a little confusing.

Lot of traffic on X. This is a summation of what I’m reading. Gaetz resigned from Congress today. Why today? On Friday the House ethics committee is meeting on Friday into allegations of child sex trafficking. This ends with his resignation.
Then I saw a listing of Republicans explicitly NO, Likely NO, and leaning NO on Gaetz’ nomination. So far there are 12 - Collins, Murkowski, Cornyn, McConnell, Tillis, Young, Cassidy, Curtis, Graham, Britt, Ernst, and Grassley.
Can this be a move to get him out of Trump’s sphere altogether?

My understanding is similar, excepting that the ethics committee would vote to release a report of an already completed investigation. Given the number of Republican Senators likely to oppose his confirmation he likely wouldn't be confirmed by the Senate since I can't imagine any Democrat voting for him.
-
Somehow I went to sleep and missed all that. Missed it on x too. Who’s sex trafficking? Gaetz?

Elon Musk OWNS Elizabeth Warren!

Possible reason...
Mike Johnson revealed that Gaetz stepped down from his post due to a state law that gives an “8-week period to select and fill a vacant seat.”
“If you start the clock now, if you do the math, we may be able to fill that seat as early as Jan. 3 when we take the new oath of office for the new Congress,” Johnson explained of Gaetz’s reasoning.

So does that mean if he ends up not being AG then he’s out of a job?

Yes
-
So does that mean if he ends up not being AG then he’s out of a job?
While that is true, I don't think the transition team would make such a huge error.
And for the sake of argument, let's say he didn't pass confirmation. There are many other administration positions he could fill that doesn't require confirmation, so it's not as if he's on the street.
Trump is going to have a very strong AG regardless who it is. The UniParty can cry all they want, but at the end of the day they will not be able to control the appointment.
I look for Matt Whitaker to rejoin the administration in the DoJ as well, plus many other constitutional grounded attorneys. The FJB Regime has destroyed justice and it is in need of serious repair to regain the public's trust. Merrick Garland and Eric Holder are stains that need to be cleaned away.

With Gaetz having resigned his seat in the House, if the Senate tries to reject his AG confirmation, DeSantis can always appoint Gaetz to fill Rubio’s Senate seat. Would be interesting to see senators have to choose between Gaetz as AG or as their colleague for years to come.

-
Anyone wonder how Trump did so well, yet we didn't pick up seats in the House?
Could be the way house districts are defined. The overall population of the state went for Trump, but the urbans kept their democrats and the rurals kept their republicans. Not enough urbans moved to republican to change the color of the seat. However, given that I would have expected more senate seats to change.
-
Anyone wonder how Trump did so well, yet we didn't pick up seats in the House?
Here’s the problem: Ask a citizen what they think of Congress, and you’ll get “They are terrible, they do nothing and spend wildly.”
Then ask “So what do you think about your representative?”, and you’ll get “Oh, him (her), they’re ok”
Most voters don’t even know who their representative is. They go to the polls to vote for President, and down ballot they look for name recognition. So incumbents have little to worry about.
This is why term limits are needed.
-
Anyone wonder how Trump did so well, yet we didn't pick up seats in the House?
Considering the way the House Republicans embarrassed themselves during the speaker fiasco I'm surprised they did as well as they did.

Not enough urbans moved to republican to change the color of the seat. However, given that I would have expected more senate seats to change.
Apparently the state legislatures aren’t allowed to pick legislative districts if democrats can scream “gerrymander!”
In Wisconsin, the now lib state Supreme Court basically gave the governor free rein to redraw the district maps. In 2024 - 4 years past the fucking census.

Energy Sec nominee: Chris Wright, founder, CEO, and chairman of Denver-based fracking company, Liberty Energy. He has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in Energy. He has worked in Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Oil and Gas. Most significantly, Chris was one of the pioneers who helped launch the American Shale Revolution that fueled American Energy Independence and transformed the Global Energy Markets and Geopolitics.
Drill, baby, drill!

FJB's picks were actually BO's picks.

This is all I know. There are two ways to post a picture.
1. Upload it to a site that will give you a url and then put the url in the post surrounded by that icon that tells the machine to render the picture. Or just manually type it: Well that won’t work, it won’t render it, it’s the img https code thingie, with brackets.
2. Click “attachments and other options”. It should bring up a dialogue box where you can upload an image from your picture library. So you will have saved the meme to your machine. Doing it this way, it won’t post without some characters in the post, even if it’s just one, so I always just type a period.

Optics. To seem hip and Woke. Plus, purposeful destruction. It's what Obama's globalist masters wanted, and they got it in spades.

I have no problem if people want to dress up like this in the privacy of their homes, or maybe at some private gay club or something. I have a VERY BIG problem doing it openly. It flouts society's conventions. Society must maintain a certain decorum, restraint, professionalism, etc., it's the glue that holds society together. You simply cannot flaunt behavior outside of those boundaries and expect to have the trust of the public. This sort of thing is one big reason the left lost the election and is losing credibility in general. They're violating this basic principle. Do what you want in private but public image matters.

Well see, there's your problem. Nobody lives in a vacuum. If you make very bad decisions in private, you will make very bad decisions in public, for that is who you are. That's why character matters so much. If you could live like a hermit in the middle of nowhere, then maybe.
This is what drove me nuts about people saying they didn't care what Clinton did "on his own time." When you're a public official, there is no private time. You are never off the clock, away from the office, or on vacation. You are there 24/7/365 and the decisions you make affect many others. Your character matters, you don't live in a vacuum, and what this guy does bothers me very much.

That demented idiot is a certifiable mental case.
He had no business being out in public much less part of the fucking senile administration.

Well that particular idiot was also a certifiable criminal.

I don’t disagree with you when it comes to public office. That is a position of public trust and high visibility and it’s best just not to even have any weird proclivities.
However I disagree if you’re saying a man enjoying dressing up as a woman per se means he has bad character or makes bad decisions. If he doesn’t try to use women’s restrooms, never imposes it on anyone and it’s just his private fetish, I see no harm in it. There’s a big difference between that and what Clinton did: Cheating on his wife and desecrating the Oval Office. That is definitely bad character!

That's a good thing. He was an embarrassment. Now Trump can make a serious appointment.

Gaetz would have made an excellent AG. The "embarrassment" was of course, MSM produced and Rino/democrat promoted.
The UniParty will not be happy with any Trump pick for AG unless it's an establishment pick. They have already made that clear. Why? Too many have had their hand in the cookie jar and fear prosecution.
Personally I would like to see Matthew Whittaker as AG, but he's already accepted Ambassador to NATO.
-
New AG nominee:
Bondi - Pam Bondi.
-
AP: "Trump chooses loyalist Pam Bondi for attorney general pick after Matt Gaetz withdraws"
and AP doesn't disappoint with their "report" ripe with editorializing and fearmongering rather than simply reporting.
-
Bondi is an EXCELLENT Choice.
She has bigger balls than a government mule.
-
She may be good. She may be better than Gaetz. Maybe that was the plan all along.
What's disappointing is that Romney got replaced by Romney 2.0.

People are freaking out over on x because Lindsay Graham endorsed Bondi.

She's a much better choice than Gaetz. She has actual experience as an AG and she will help put to bed the Democrat lie that Trump is afraid to surround himself with strong, powerful, successful women.

No one pays any attention to Graham, fucking war monger RINO!

She seems to be highly qualified. So much so that the MSM is very much afraid of her. And she's pretty hot. And blonde. She has my vote.
-
Trump's female picks for key positions are a LOT more attractive than the Lesbians, freaks and Trannies of the Biden Administration. And also very qualified unlike Trump's predecessor.
-
Conservative women are BY FAR more attractive than those on the left. I wonder why that is.
-
I wonder what would happen if we had a beauty contest between here and PoA. I bet we'd win. Unless they cheat.

I think slotting DeSantis was Trump’s way of shaking up the treasonous rinos in the senate. The cunt cotillion of Collins, murkowski, cornyn and Ernst needed a hard slap in the face and got it in the form of having to deal with DeSantis - the President in waiting - on a daily basis.
