Title: Nissan ‘Preparing’ 11-13 Month Plan To Go Out Of Business
Post by: Number7 on December 01, 2024, 04:07:02 PM
A dear (nerd) friend of mine got a business news blast about Nissan planning to close up shop within 11–13 months if they do not find a buyer.

They apparently have an unsustainable debt to equity problem and the board has chosen to deal with it through closure.

A friend of mine was sued by Nissan. They wanted to take over his domain, nissan.com.  He built computers, his name was Uzi Nissan!  His company was Nissan Computers!  He had the domain first. He won the case.  That’s why Nissan Motors’ website is nissanusa.com.  So, sorry, I don’t feel bad about Nissan going out of business. And Uzi gets to keep the domain forever. RIP Uzi. 😢

When I was doing the mid-Atlantic - Florida drive, rented an Altima, premium version. Really comfortable for a 17-hour drive, great mileage and a huge range. Only needed two stops for gas in 1000 miles. But for the notoriously unreliable CVT I would have bought one.
