There are a few stupid democrats that think the publicity will help them in 2026, but their inertia is gone.
The fuck bags have too many dangerous seats that could be lost if they piss off 62% of the country that bad.

They are talking about (more) lawfare and supposed constitutional pathways to prevent his inauguration but it amounts to nothing more than impotent crying over the fact that they didn’t get their way. The only real option they have remains literal assassination. The smart ones understand that won’t work; even if they kill Trump the country is no longer with them and we will not be having a President Harris. But there are plenty of stupid ones that are probably plotting as we speak. That’s my only real fear and I hope to God Trump has beefed up his security with private teams and is not trusting the Secret Service.

I'm more worried about Republican in-fighting over who will be speaker causing a delay in certification. But hopefully Trump will resolve that issue beforehand. Perhaps he will manage to get Elon to be the House Speaker.

I would think it is Obama that is working on a plan since it is his legacy that is trying to be upheld.

One method that both parties seem to have figured out is that if they push for a logical decision, the opposition will dutifully do the opposite.

The reality is that both parties are experiencing a split. The Democrats suffering being taken over by the far left woke mob, as opposed to the more traditional Dems. The extremism of the woke mob, plus the idiocy of the globalist coalition (whoever the hell is actually running things) caused them to lose to Trump. The idiocy was replacing Biden too late and with a total joke of a candidate. If they’d gotten Biden to step down in January and held an actual primary they might have had a chance. Hell, if they hadn’t pushed RFK and Tulsi Gabbard out of the party either of them might have beaten Trump. But that’s an alternate reality we’ll never see.
The main split of the Republicans of course are the RINOs and MAGA. Trump used the Republican Party as a vehicle to win but he is neither a traditional Republican nor a conservative. This is the rise of right-leaning populism and counters the likes of left leaning populists such as Bernie Sanders and I’d throw Fetterman into that based on some of his recent interviews.
The conservative base of course goes with Trump because they’re not going to go with the wacko Dems, but to the extent that they are “hard right” on social issues there is some friction there, on abortion for example. They’re unhappy Trump isn’t pushing for a national ban. Most right leaning libertarians also go with MAGA because it’s more sane than either the Dems or the RINOs. But again, not all is butterflies and roses. Many of them are very against Trump’s tariffs and also criticize Trump’s handling of Covid.
But MAGA is turning out to be much more big tent than the current incarnation of the Dems, who seem more interested in kicking people to the curb over non-conformity than trying to empathize with their practical needs.
Trump embraced all these ex-Democrats and he’s bringing them aboard to help improve the country but this doesn’t mean it’s a classical liberal, fiscally and socially conservative, constitutional return to some idealized great past, the “Make America Great Again” slogan notwithstanding. (Certainly the RINOs were never going to do that.)
The truth is that is impossible. Our great past happened due to massive immigration from mostly Europe, bringing tons of brainpower and Christian work ethic, combined with a new experiment in economic freedom, and virtually unlimited resources, leading to an explosion of industry and technological advances. Continually expanding population drove ever expanding markets and wealth accumulation. Even the descendants of slaves were thriving and upwardly mobile prior to the disastrous implementation of Democrat policy which utterly destroyed their nuclear family structure. (Turns out that having had a father in the home is key to the eventual functionality and character of adult men).
But for whatever reason, white and black Americans have stopped reproducing. And a monstrous government bureaucracy is crippling the free market. Now we have immigrants from places other than Europe replacing us as a percent of the demographic, beginning with Hispanic for a long while, but now there is an explosion of immigrant wannabes from all over the world. At least the Hispanics were Christian (if “Papists”). We are feeling uneasy with immigrants who don’t want to assimilate but who want to replace American culture with something else, but… if we won’t have our own babies, and we need growth to fuel a thriving economy, the choice is to let them in, or stagnate.
It’s not a good choice. But either way, there is no return to “then”.

The theory I've heard is that typically, a woman has to get out X number of words per day, where a man's number is much lower. This is evidenced by seeing the large number of women in public with their cell phones glued to their ear, yacking away.

I was wondering if I was being sexist just by noticing that. I even mentioned it to my wife the other day (who doesn't even have a cell phone). She thought I was imagining it, but just walk through a store and count the people with a phone smashed between their shoulder and their ear. I almost never see a man do that, but women do it all the time. It's like that at the gym too.
Speaking of the gym and the grocery store, for about the past year or so, I have noticed a lot fewer (a ton fewer) fat women at the gym. The number of hot young women wearing Yoga pants or shorts and a sports bra has increased. My wife went with me the other day and she noticed it and asked if that is why I go so often.
However at the grocery store it is completely opposite. I see so many fat women with frozen Pizzas, potato chips, boxed mac&cheese, soft drinks, donuts, beer and a ton of other fattening, processed foods in their carts it is no wonder they are fat. And I don't think they even know where the fresh produce is.

I weaponize it. When hubby is skulking around the house while I’m trying to get stuff done, I launch into yammering at him about some random subject and in no time his eyes glaze over and he’s backing out the door to go escape to the shop.

My wife is a rambler. At least once a day I get the stink eye when I tell her to ge to the point when she starts going into a 500 word story when 3 or 4 words will do. Even worse when I ask a simple yes or no question.

Hubby will say, “I’m going to the store is there anything you need?” And I will say, “Let’s see, I have three containers of cream and I average 6 tablespoons per day and if you divide the total volume.. blah blah blah blah …. and so I think I have enough to last a week so if you’re going back to the store in less than a week then you don’t need to get cream today.”
And hubby says, “So the answer is ‘no’. Why can’t you just say ‘no’!?”

Yep. I ask a specific question for a specific reason. The yes or no answer is all I need to figure out what my next steps are. Just answer the damn question! I just tell my wife I'm going to the store and text me if she needs anything. I don't wait for a verbal response.

KIDDING! He doesn’t do that, in fact, he doesn’t even text me back. He just comes home and says, “You should have thought of it sooner.”

We have a dishwasher with a plastic front. At one time we had a magnetic little thing for dishes dirty/dishes clean. Obviously it didn't work with this dishwasher. This morning we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and found a cool Star Wars sign. I mentioned to my wife I could probably secure something to the plastic panel so we could use it. I opened the package and it came with a rectangular magnet with adhesive on it. I put that on the dishwasher and the little sign works. When my wife saw it she wanted to know how I got it to work already. I explained that it had come with a magnet that I mounted on the dishwasher and we were all set. Hence, ensued a conversation about how was that possible if I hadn't done anything to make it work. Since I did not specifically say the magnet had adhesive on it, she was unable to deduce that until I did specifically say it. She ended up coming to me to ask me why I had to make her out to be an idiot.

Since he retired, my husband does all the grocery shopping. I did when he worked. But when he retired he started going every few days and would ask if I needed anything so I started telling him and it got to the point he went so often that I never need to go anymore. There was no agreement that he’d take over the shopping, it just happened. Not sure how I feel about it. It was kind of “my” territory.
Same thing happened with getting the mail and bringing the garbage can back after they empty it. I used to do those things while he was at work but now he jumps on it as soon as he sees the mail lady come and the trash get picked up. That was actually a break I enjoyed, just walking outside in the sun and fresh air for that short trip to the end of the driveway. He thinks he’s “helping” me, but it’s just annoying. He’s disrupted my routine I was in when he was gone at work all day.
He started emptying the dishwasher which was too much and I had to put a stop to it. I empty it and can tell from the feel of the dishes how to adjust the rinse aid programming. So I told him that and now he leaves it for me.
He knows better than to even think about doing any laundry! MY TERRITORY.
Retirement is a challenge. But I’ve adjusted and it’s all good. He keeps the cars filled with gas and a million other things I’d be lost if he didn’t do. All in all I couldn’t have asked for a better husband.

Hahaha, right! Thank goodness Mark is very involved in his hobbies. He’s gone for half a day a few days a week and spends a lot of time in the shop. I am convinced that men who retire and don’t stay active probably have a shorter lifespan, if not for ill health, their wives kill them.
It’s a delicate thing though and maybe peculiar to stay at home wives, which I have been for several years. We get used to the house as being “our” territory, at least during weekdays, and feel very invaded when the husband is suddenly there all the time. But that’s very unfair. It’s his home too, and mostly his money that paid for it, and he has every right to be there and not be made to feel unwelcome.
Like anything with marriage though, if it’s a good marriage you work it out with mutual respect and consideration for each other. I guess if it’s a bad marriage, why the hell did you stick it out all the way to retirement age?

My wife and I usually shop together. Tuesday morning is shopping time. If she is feeling particularly bad, then I go by myself. Like I said before, we do our shopping lists using Alexa. Anytime we think of something we just tell Alexa to put it on the list.
