Title: Illegals Impact on Water Supply in Los Angeles
Post by: jb1842 on January 12, 2025, 04:26:44 PM
What I'm not getting is why nobody is talking about the strain on the water supply used by illegal aliens.

There are estimated over 800,000 illegals in LA. Each person is estimated to use 80-100 gallons of water per day.

Using 800,000 at 80 gallons means the illegals in LA use 64,000,000 gallons of water a day. Over a year that's 23,360,000,000 gallons of water!!!! At the low end!!! You can't tell me that much water could have saved lives and contain/control the wildfires better than what is happening now.

Again, liberal policies favoring criminals is costing lives and billions of property damage, plus untold economic damage.

According to several news sources the tanks at higher elevations that maintain pressure were full at the beginning of the fire. One reservoir was out of service for repair. There was no shortage due to excess population - legal or illegal. The demand for water simply exceeded the amount that the topping pumps could pump up hill to replenish the tanks as they were drained.

Looks like the worst-case scenario they designed the system for was exceeded. Lack of imagination or more likely funding.

Spending tax revenue to assist illegal immigrants and similar social aid rather than first insuring local services have healthy funding appears a major cause. That's the closest illegals come to being at fault - and IMHO they aren't at fault: the majority of voters are at fault for electing the politicians who declared their priorities that sent revenue elsewhere.

but, just in case people were concerned... yes, there are those that blame climate change for the wildfires.

I for one believe that climate change was part of the problem.  A small part.
But just like "illegal alien" does not equal "immigrant", "Climate change" does not equal "MMCC".

The bigger problem was politically inspired priorities.

I also believe, (although I know that some disagree) that a big part of the problem is "too many people".

When incompetent, agenda driven ideologues surrender common sense to make believe bullshit, then embrace make believe fish as an excuse for hijacking public funds, then bad things are going to happen.

Blaming make believe mmgw is about as reasonable as claiming mmgw causes prostitution, and just as dishonest.
