The dude is very smart. Great detail on how much money our military wastes because they just don't f'ing care.

Can you imagine what Ukraine could accomplish if their military had our military's budget?

Actually, that's not a fair comparison.  Ukraine is being phenomenally efficient because they HAVE to.  If they had the type of funding we provide our military, they would be just as wasteful as ours.  Perhaps more because in war, results are more important than efficiency.

He made the point that if you set a large budget they’ll spend it. I saw that first hand when I worked in government. They NEVER say, oh we don’t need that much, cut our budget next year.

Which is one reason why the dims are so up in arms about DOGE.  the whole concept of being efficient is an anathema for them.

Because there's always more money.  And results are more important than expense.  While this model is not sustainable, their results is to get into power forever.  Then they can have as much money as they want to line their pockets regardless of results.  That's what crashed the Soviet Union.

What really struck me was how all these years of hearing the media talk about evil profit driven Blackwater, was in fact, propaganda, or at least heavy bias, deflecting us from the real cause of the drawn out forever wars:  the government.  (I do keep in mind that this is his point of view. But it’s one I never heard until now.)

The real problem is people in government’s incompetence and whatever political capital they get by making decisions to go to war - excuse me, “police action” - with zero understanding or care about what they’re unleashing, never having set foot in these countries, not understanding the cultures, not knowing a thing about the art of war, etc.

For example, they keep thinking “cut the head off the snake” is how you win wars, when in reality you win by killing a third of their fighting forces.

When things go very wrong, throw the contractor under the bus as a scapegoat.

These wars should be short, brutal and about revenge, and then GET OUT. They should not be dragging things out for decades trying to transform a country into a democracy.

Media all this time portraying Blackwater going to government and gleefully suggesting we endlessly bomb civilians so they can profit, when in reality his company got started by government (Navy) coming to him begging to be taught how to shoot guns. Shoot guns! The most basic task of the military. Because a private company can do anything more effectively.

At least up until recently that’s what media said, I suppose now it’s flip flopped and bombing civilians is a good thing as long as they are Russian, Ukrainian and Israeli.

Oh, and the whole flood the Hamas tunnels thing, we ALL knew when this started that’s what needed to happen. Interesting that he tried to tell them to do that and it would have led to immediate defeat of Hamas, but no, they didn’t listen to him, and now here we are more than a year later with every civilian in Gaza starving to death. But it’s the private contractor that’s the evil party dragging out war.

Loved when he brought in a Texas roughneck. Private entrepreneurs just know how to get shit done. Even the relatively agile military (when compared to the rest of government) is just a big stupid bureaucratic blob by comparison.

20 years in the Air Force and I have seen it. A few months before the fiscal year ends they start sending the funds on everything. If it’s not moving it’s gonna get painted!

End of fiscal year spending was wild.

A guy I was in the Marine Corps with got hired by Blackwater. Ended up getting hit by an IED in Afghanistan and lost his leg. He had nothing but praise on how they took care of him.

I've seen it while working for Computer Science Corp on contract to the EPA.  It's a great gig if you like buying a lot of new toys, just because you like playing with new toys and there is plenty of money that you have to spend.
