That’s a lose-lose position. Either admit you were too stupid and blind to see reality, or admit you saw it and lied to the American people, participating in the coverup. The only defense that doesn’t make you look idiotic or evil, is the victim one, where she is gaslit or threatened to go along with the narrative. This is very common and plausible, however, the other reason people do such things is bribery. The salary and status of the position itself plus the special “first blah blah” decoration. This is much less forgivable.
What I am curious about is whether this is a sincere change of heart, that is, recognizing the Democratic Party now embraces outright evil on many fronts, or is it simply as you say, deserting a sinking ship; leaving the party because it is rapidly collapsing into irrelevance.
Has she rethought the now outright Marxist/fascisim of the Democrats?
Is she appalled at the surgical mutilation of children in the name of trans ideology?
Does she recognize that without strong borders we cannot survive as a country?
Is she sickened by the violence of Antifa/BLM and the active and tacit support of the Democrats?
Is she baffled by how the Democrats somehow suddenly hate electric cars and healthy organic food just because RFKJr and Elon support Trump?
Does she recognize that Trump supporters are not all racist Nazis?
Did she vote for Harris???

Here’s the problem with the victim narrative. Was she kidnapped off the street and forced to take the job at gunpoint? No. She was offered money, benefits, status, access to the corridors of power. So she is psychologically manipulated and told to play by the rules, so what, any of us who’ve worked for a large corporation have suffered the same. Could she have quit at any time? If so, not a victim.
I have the same problem with some of the so called sex trafficking “victims”. Were you kidnapped at gunpoint? No? Were you offered money and a lavish lifestyle, access to famous celebrities? Yes? Could you have left at any time? Yes? You are not a victim.

I just read her wiki page. I had no idea she is NOT a descendent of American black slaves. She’s Haitian, born in France to Haitian immigrants there, who then moved the family to Queens NY when she was a child.
Wow, just like Obama, the “first black” this or that isn’t actually a legacy descendent of American slaves. I guess we can’t have that, can’t have Herman Cain or Ben Carson as the first black president because they aren’t Democrat.
Anyhow she had no chance. Born in France, grew up in NY, went to Columbia, she was programmed from the start to be on the left, so if she is actually leaving the left in any legitimate way at all, that would be quite a journey.

Maybe she reached a critical mass where she could no longer deny the utter corruption of what she was involved in. She experienced what Roy Baumeister calls the “crystallization of discontent”. This is the moment you become aware that you have been experiencing a pattern of seemingly unconnected events that now suddenly crystallize into a negative situation on the whole.
Before that moment you’re all in, but have nagging doubts here and there as you observe things that give you cognitive dissonance. After that moment you now see the underlying dysfunctional foundation of the whole enchilada.
If she is a normal person with a soul, maybe this happened. Her conscience finally caught up with her.
I think many in DC are literally psychopaths, that is, they have no soul. Biden, Hillary, Pelosi, certainly AOC and the squad, all the judges and bureaucrats conducting lawfare against Trump, most unapologetic Democrats in power right now have to be psychopaths to support their lunatic policies.
She might also be a psychopath, doing this for wholly self serving purposes. Or not, I don’t know. Like I said, I’d like to hear what she has to say for herself.
