Think about it. If this was true, the democrat communist would have already had a field day with it. They wouldn't have been able to hold back.
Sorry Elon is going this route. I'm not happy with the legislation and feel it echoes McCarthy and Ryan. The republicans should have voted it down then demanded the tax cut part be voted on separately.

Musk is faking it. Trump is in the Epstein flight logs, part of the files. So what he says is true. But now the dems will fall all over themselves to demand the files be released. If they don't, they will appear to be supporting Trump. So the files are finally released, the guilty get pilloried, and Trump emerges victorious. If anything bad about Trump was in those files, it would have been leaked already.

I was really hoping this was true but I don’t think it is. The richest man in the world and the most powerful man in the world teaming up to save the country was too good to be true. They’re both uncompromising alpha males and were destined to clash from the start. Neither is capable of co-rule or playing second fiddle to a boss.
Most importantly, they do not share the same ultimate goal. Elon is focused on getting to Mars. Make no mistake, everything else he does is to support that end. Trump wants to return America to its former glory; he wants to leave that as his legacy and the clock is ticking away fast.
We have two great men trying to move mountains to accomplish their respective goals. Sure, Elon loves America and wants to make it great again, and sure, Trump has expressed enthusiasm about going to Mars, but for each the other’s mission is a distant second to their own, and functions to serve their own.
Both goals might be unrealistic and maybe even borderline delusional and the moment the other’s goal is perceived to clash with his own, each man will abandon the partnership.
I think that’s what happened. Elon is expecting federal funding in part for his Mars mission (estimate 20%) and that’s his main driver for slimming down the federal budget and what’s behind his rage at the “big beautiful bill”. But Elon doesn’t grasp the political reality.
Trump understands the political reality which is that we cannot fix decades of mismanagement overnight. Congress simply will not pass a balanced budget - they have to face their constituents. Deficit spending will continue to cover obligations as we try to dismantle the many headed hydra.
Trump understands that cutting spending too fast could hurt the Republicans in the midterms and if we lose the midterms it’s all over with. He’s banking on his policies eventually growing the economy enough to make up for the tax cuts and so on. He might be wrong but in his mind we have no choice; the Democrats cannot be allowed to regain power even if it means not addressing the national debt yet.
The average populist voter may give lip service to cutting spending and balancing the budget but when the rubber hits the road he votes his own self interest. Do not cut social security, do not cut grants that benefit my state and town, cut everybody else’s money, not mine. To keep their seat, this is why Congresscritters won’t pass a drastically cut spending bill.
Elon can’t see this, he is literally on the spectrum. He has trouble putting himself in the shoes of the common man, something Trump can do.
However, Elon is absolutely correct. This country can’t survive continuing on this fiscal path much longer. Never mind his Mars funding, we cannot afford to support our aging population, we cannot afford another world war (more likely by the day), we are almost at the point we cannot afford servicing our current debt yet we keep piling it on.
Meanwhile we still have the deep state actively trying to sabotage everything: Their goal is just to hang on to power even if it means destroying the country itself.
Both men are right in their positions. We are between a rock and a hard place and there may be no solution, they might be fighting each other on a sinking ship.

Wow! I don’t know what to say.
I hope it is a calculated performance. I heard Trump gave back the car Elon gifted him. If they’re faking it they’re doing a good job.
