There are reports the targeted strikes successfully killed many, if not most of the iranian military general staff.
If that turns out to be true, that is wonderful news. Now if Israel can kill off the mentally insane mullah, even better.

Yes that’s what is being reported, the top General of their armed forces and another General who was mouthing off a week or two ago.

I don't know how to feel about this. The chaos is becoming too extreme and I've got serious personal problems I have to deal with. I can't handle worrying about world-war 3 popping off. This is stressing me out way too much. I'm quitting X for a while and all news except targeted subjects like the India plane crash.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't post this stuff. I suppose it's good to just hear the basic events to more or less keep up so subsequent events don't just come out of left field at me. I can choose whether or not to engage with it more deeply. I just can't do my normal digging to try to figure out whether it's something I think is good or bad or I agree or don't agree with something somebody did.
Maybe this will lead directly to WW3 or maybe it hobbles Iran and puts them in their place. I have no idea, it's all too overwhelming.

Yes! They seem to come in waves and also targeted strikes. 😔 It’s hard to keep going, and removing optional awarenesses is a good strategy.

They do. TWO bombs at the same time. Both very bad news, unrelated to each other but both close to home, and then at the same time LA riots looking like the start of civil war and now this, another step closer to world war.
It’s like every level of my world from the most local to the most existential is under coordinated attack.

Same here. I'm doing a news (and X) blackout for a while. Too much in and out of my head going on to maintain sanity. Just too much crazy out there and I need to focus on friends and family. I'll remain here for all the important stuff, as I consider all of you my friends.

This is what makes a great leader. Trump has to think about the LA riots and Israel/Iran no matter what personal problems he might be dealing with, and decide how to respond, knowing the literal safety of all the people in the country and the world depend on him making the right decisions.
Plus knowing that whatever he does, he will be hated by half the country, and if anything does go sideways, he will be blamed whether or not he did anything to cause it or could have stopped it. But if everything settles down and we avoid war, he won’t get the credit.
Yet he will keep on going.
He’s not perfect and I don’t see him as a superhuman god, but men like that are extremely rare.

I used to record and watch all the Sunday news shows. They were pissing me off and bad for my blood pressure. So some time during Obama, I stopped watching. I am a lot happier now...

Outstanding advice. Two questions that I ask... Is this something that affects me directly? Is this something I can do something about? To paraphrase, "Turn off, tune out, drop in."
Right now the biggest issue that affects me is an oil leak into my starter and I can't get a slot with my mechanic to disassemble and put in a new gasket and bushing.
