Islam is not conducive, nay, it is antithetical, to democracy. Islam and government in these countries are inextricably woven together tightly. For Muslims to fight their government officials and religious leaders would be a violent and drawn-out struggle. I hope they undertake it, but I couldn’t blame them for wanting to be alive instead.

A bigger question is how do they pay for the account? You would think the government would track all transactions of its citizens. Maybe they get a relative outside the country to manage the account.
Long ago Iran banned “satellite dishes” but they slacked off on the enforcement. The Starlink devices now come under that definition but right now they have bigger fish to fry. Directing resources to beefing up customs inspections might be problematic.
The list of banned items to import is so long, it would have been easier just to publish a list of what is allowed. You cannot import sugar or brown sugar, used clothing, any written material that is not Islam approved, musical instruments, tea or coffee except from approved companies, dry ice, or pickles.
Many other things you can only import with a special permit, like cell phones, where you are limited to one per person per year.

Long ago I fell for it and thought we were helping the factions within these countries who want to westernize. I had a friend who had escaped from Iran and told me how much of the general population does not give a shit about being fundamentalist Muslim. They stay quiet for fear of death. The idea in countries where we acted, like Iraq, was our human intel knew this and we were trying to free these people.
That may have been partially true but now I recognize the profit motive behind dragging out these wars and now I see no evidence it works. We cannot democratize a people. They have to do it themselves. We tried with China by opening up trade. All it did was strengthen China’s communist dictatorship. We tried and failed in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Maybe a partial success in Korea but Koreans are not infested with the sick religion of Islam.

Most of those aren’t homosexual at all. It’s a cult full of activists who have appropriated “LGBT” and added a bunch of bullshit made up stuff that doesn’t even exist. They are largely mentally ill, tiktok-addicted straight women, and straight men with fetishes; crossdressers, autogynephilliacs (straight men who get turned on at the idea they own a vagina, or get fake boobs installed because they love boobs, because - they’re straight men, who maybe can’t get a real woman to let them touch their boobs), pedophiles and voyeurs who dress up to access ladies rooms.
Most of all this cult is used as one more brick in the identity politics foundation for Marxism. We don’t have an acknowledged class division like Marixism 1.0 so Marxism 2.0 had to come up with a new definition for oppressors and victims, hence identity politics dividing us into oppressors (mostly straight white men) and a glob of minority victims based on race, gender, skin color, and sexual identity and preferences.
The hate and violence, just like the Islam kind, is funded by the forces trying to destroy our republic and install a permanent parasite elite class. (That is all Marxism, communism, socialism and leftism is: Parasitism.) Disrupting and dividing the country is a key part of the plan.
Fortunately the wacko useful idiots in the LBGTQRST+ ETC.ETC. have gone too far. Normal - by that I mean sane - homosexuals, and even actual trans - are horrified, and are increasingly speaking out. Many of them are leaving the Democratic Party. Buck Angel is a prime example, a lifelong liberal Democrat and transexual, switched in time to vote for Trump last fall.
I think this movement is bigger than it appears. The media claims LGBTs are the only demographic that voted less for Trump in 2024 than 2020. (27% in 2020 and 12% in 2024). But this was based on exit polls, hence self identification, and in the last few years there has been an explosion of self-identified LGBTetc especially bi-sexual and female trans. I suggest this bloated the percent voting for Harris in 2024 although there was also a lot of fear about Trump due to propaganda that he was going to put gays in concentration camps. Because he so did that in his first term. ::)
P.S. Nothing more clear that they’re peddling horseshit than men who claim to be trans-women but are also lesbians. Biological men who are sexually attracted to women. That’s a straight man. They just want to appropriate female things like dresses, bathrooms and sports.
One of the biggest most hypocritical tells how deeply misogynistic the left has become, is their complete abandonment of women’s rights. Even worse than not having a women’s sports league is creating one, then allowing males to dominate it.
