So now there's a proposed third party, The America Party. A recent post on X says:
The America Party isn’t far left and it isn’t far right.
It is forward and focused on doing what is right.
It’s the party of builders, innovators, doers, and the silent majority tired of watching two parties pretend to be different while serving the same system.
The America Party is for the people!
The problem is, most Conservative / Republicans agree with this. Most Democrats don't. They are not builders, innovators, or doers. This will only weaken Republicans frustrated with the far right. The Democrats will gain a majority forever. Not happy with this.

It's certainly a concern, but I don't think it will get any traction.

The hopes of the American Party are to gain enough seats in both houses to stop voting blocks.
During the last legislative battle just 5 house seats and 2 to 3 senate seats would have changed everything. This is how a small minority can reshape legislation.
Honestly within the beltway there is little difference between democrats and republicans. The career politicians have destroyed us financially and have enable a fourth branch of government. Term limits would solve much of this but without an Article V convention this won’t happen. And with so many low information people voting it just continues to enable the UniParty.

I realize some people think this third party will hurt the Democrats more than the Republicans. I am not sure one way or the other but if I were a betting person, I would NOT want such a party to run a candidate in the 2028 presidential. WAAAAYYY too much risk of splitting the Republican vote a la Ross Perot style.
If Elon wants to form such a party to try to win seats in the midterms, I'd be interested in watching that and I'm not necessarily against it. I get the point that Massie, Rand Paul and Elon are making about the budget. But the problem remains: Where do you cut the budget when you must continue Social Security and Medicare benefits, fund the border and deportation of illegals, and build the military, while you simultaneously are whining about losing your EV subsidies?
You cut out all the pork. But then how do you get any votes? So the plan is to somehow use a third party to replace a significant majority in ALL CONGRESS, who you think are going to be on board with passing bills with no pork for their districts. Good luck with that.
And once formed, does Elon imagine he will remain in control of it? He may not intend to have the party run in the 2028 presidential but it'll probably get away from him, like the way I gave birth to little babies and they ended up grown ass adults completely out of my control.
