Never be another Ozzy that’s for sure. They had just reunited and played a farewell concert a week ago. Same happened to Tom Petty, played last concert and passed away. RIP Ozzy!

Last time I saw him, he looked like he was already dead.

Heavy metal came way after my time, so I never really followed him.

I have an Ozzy story. While trying to better myself and my economic position through education, while single, I took college classes at night. One was a speech class. At one class, the instructor handed us slips of paper from which we were to speak “extemporaneously.” My slip of paper said “Ozzy Osborne.” I had no idea who this person was, but I had to give a speech. I finally decided it must be the male half of Ozzy and Harriet! Yay! I now had a speech, and spoke eloquently about the American spirit and family values of this iconic couple. I had no idea why the class and instructor were laughing so hard they were clutching their sides and practically falling over. Until I finished, and they told me Ozzy Osborne was a rock star who bit the heads off live chickens in his act.

Still, I got an A in the class.

You of course meant to do it that way all along, right?  😀

No! I truly didn’t know who he was.

A friend of mine gave me the secret to those contemporaneous speeches where you don't know the subject until it is time to speak.

He said he was given the topic of The War of the Roses.  He had heard of it but knew nothing about it.

So...

"The War of the Roses was a difficult time for both sides, which reminds me of something my grandmother said about trying to get along with neighbors that sided with both sides in support of the Civil War, "Yanks" and "Rebs",

Then he went on for 15 minutes talking about his grandmother.

But did HE get an A? Seriously, his method is one way to do it.

Heavy metal came way after my time, so I never really followed him.

Really? Heavy metal was introduced by The Beatles in the 60s, then others followed and expanded. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Ozzie, etc and etc, etc...

And you're older than I am and I grew up with it

RIP Ozzie. One of the best.

BTW, Ozzie never really bit off the heads of real Bats, nor Chickens in his act.
