Title: Is CO2 a pollutant?

Another good, balanced analysis from WSJ:

I agree with the administration on this: CO2 is not a pollutant because it is present naturally, and even what we've added is not anywhere near enough to make it toxic to human health. Branding it as a "pollutant" is just a bit of legal legerdemain designed to force the government to undertake costly mitigation measures that can't succeed without enormous damage to the US economy - and the world economy as well.

By their definition, water vapor is a pollutant because too much of it can block sunlight and cause global cooling.  Oxygen is also a pollutant because too much of it is incompatible with life.  Also too little of it for animal life.  Nitrogen is a pollutant because if it composes all of the atmosphere, we'll all die.

Yeah... if you have too much or too little of something it's bad.  But sending money to the government is not the solution.

"Legerdemain"  Great word!  Had to look it up.  I'll see how I can slip it into conversation today.
