We really need to start treating mental lunatics instead of trying to normalize them. And we need to hold the media accountable for their lies and cheering on the Trump hate.
-
MSM is desperately spinning this.
The Democrat Communist are pushing this sick ideology and constantly pumping this hate 24/7.
-
As soon as the news broke my wife said, "I bet it's a tranny."
We've all seen this movie.
Instead of demanding we all pretend the trans are normal and all they need is to be 'seen' and 'accepted,' trans need to be treated for their psychiatric illness.
-
All over X, the Demon left is crazy trying to make this about anything but what it is — the result of whipping people up to hate anything good and normal and healthy. Ilhan Omar (MN) comes to mind, and Tim Walz (MN) frothed at the mouth calling President Trump “that thing in the White House.” I also see that it’s been uncovered that the trans community worldwide is a target for grooming disturbed people to kill. We will see more of this. The Demon left wants us unarmed and divided. They want crime, drugs, arms, to travel freely. Borders are an inconvenience. My dearest hope is that we will unite behind our President in fighting off these Demons. Democrats are revealing themselves daily to be on the side evil and destruction.

Leftist FB friend just posted that it's time thoughts and prayers again. His sarcastic way of saying we need gun control. It generally does zero good to counter him, his mind is made up.

More guns not less. Arm teachers, hire armed guards. At the first sign of a shooter, solve the problem on the spot.
When someone posts crap online like this guy, literal threats, lock them up in a mental institution.

the problem is that very few people who post online threats actually follow through. That's just one of the problems with "red flag" laws.

Red flag laws don’t require actual threats, but can be just people’s perception of someone being a danger to themselves or others. I’m talking about actual outright threats, even if most people don’t act on them, they need to be taken literally and seriously.
Also, red flag laws take guns away from such people which is pointless. They can easily get another gun. I’m talking about physically locking them up.

And I'm talking the problem with distinquishing between actual threats and just mouthing off. I know you weren't thinking about red flag laws. But it's pretty much the same problem.
Taking away liberty based on someone just thinking about doing something... just because someone thinks they could do something bad.
I never saw the movie "minority report", but I understand the premise. It would indeed be interesting if we could know for sure and for certain that someone will commit a crime... but our concept of justice and liberty is that we only lock people up who are actually guilty of committing a crime. Are we going to lock up people for hate thoughts? Are we going to lock up people for thinking things we don't like?

Someone post online that they are going to kill Bob Noel. They put up pictures of their weapon that has written on it "Kill Bob Noel". The person making the post is easily identifiable.
Should we just chalk it up to "hate thought"? After all, they haven't actually tried it......yet. Or should it be investigated?

I agree completely and am against red flag laws. I’m talking about not just thinking, but verbalizing outright threats. That’s where the line is crossed and it becomes a crime.
The only time one’s rights should be violated for simply thinking something, is when their thoughts are associated with outright psychosis or other severe mental derangement, in which case they should be both disarmed and locked away. The Founders would have agreed with this. The 2nd Amendment is absolute wrt to the militia, which is every able bodied male. It does not extend the right to toddlers for example, or the demented, or the severely mentally ill. They put the severely mentally ill into “lunatic asylums” back then, and most certainly did not let them have arms.
This nut would have qualified. Unfortunately we’ve largely done away with “mental institutions” and instead supposedly replaced them with “community based care” which often ends up meaning: homeless on the street, or living in your parent’s basement and maybe visiting a therapist once a week. You can still get yourself locked up if you’re nutty enough but more of these nuts fall through the cracks.
A person like this guy, with his prolific insane posting, should have been locked up long ago. And there’s another more frightening aspect to this. There is a growing organized violent crime ring consisting of these “trans” identifying lunatics who would all qualify for RICO charges if the feds were doing their job. I think they call themselves “Trantifa”.
As always I point out the difference between these evil nut jobs and more mentally grounded trans who recognize that they have a disorder yet are not psychopathic and would never hurt innocent people, like Caitlyn Jenner, Buck Angel, there’s tons of them, and they are speaking out against this horrifying trend of using “trans” as a tool to recruit fucked up kids into antisocial criminal gangs. They have more to lose than anybody, due to backlash against all trans.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the funding and encouragement for Trantifa is coming from the same high level leftist sources funding the regular Antifa. The goal is to sow fear and create hate and division - it is literal terrorism.

The inherent problem with red flag laws is the obsession democrats have with labeling conservatives for the express purpose of taking away our rights, to ensure they keep getting fraudulently elected. Say what you want, but democrats are insane when the subject is people who refuse their kool-aid. Using the courts to remove, and permanently disenfranchise conservative voters is common from the left.

This is the problem with everything I just posted. Whether red flag laws, or disarming the truly mentally ill, who defines these things?
For example, “mental illness” now includes ADHD, basic anxiety disorders, social awkwardness and so on, which can then be used to justify restricting your 2nd Amendment right. For example, many states have restrictions for getting a conceal carry permit including whether you are on an antidepressant. Antidepressants are prescribed for all kinds of things besides severe depression. Chronic pain, mild anxiety, temporary stressful situations, etc. But anti-gunners want you to think everyone on an antidepressant is a homicidal maniac. Unless they’re trans of course in which case they are brave and amazing and perfectly normal.
ADHD? Give me a break. You mean normal little boys forced to sit still all day being lectured about their white privilege, black victimhood, and toxic masculinity. When my father was 12 years old in the 1930s, he was given a handgun and told to go around the neighborhood and shoot the squirrels which were being pests getting into everybody’s attics. Imagine that: An outlet for budding masculine energy.
Giving 12 year olds guns to carry around the neighborhood might not be appropriate these days but we don’t have to go so far as drug them up and drive them to school because helicopter parents don’t trust them to walk the two blocks by themselves.
The left labels what is in reality normal masculine behavior and normal center-right beliefs as “far-right extremism”, “domestic terrorism”, and now conservatives are terrorists so take away their guns and while you’re at it, whatever you do, don’t teach young children safe gun handling.

"investigated", ok. But what actions, if any, would result from the investigation?
Now, if a person were to conspire with another person or persons to kill Bob Noel, that would be a consipracy to commit a crime, which is, I think, a felony. It would be actionable.
but, of course, IANAL

Many variables. But let’s say they find even more postings saying he hates Bob Noel because Bob Noel is a homophobe and anti trans (his opinion). And in all that they find this guy has been tracking your every move and has starting writing down how he’s going to take you out. Let’s also say that the investigation uncovers this guy has a history or mental disorder and this isn’t his first time to make threats.
And let’s not forget that there are laws against death threats.
So do we just wait for this guy to carry out his plan and pull the trigger?
-
In many states the law is that if a person has a history of mental disorder, and that person makes threats to harm themselves or others, they can be picked up and under court order be put under medical care. This usually is confinement until which time the individual is no longer considered a threat. This usually is therapy and medication.
-

What actions would you like to result? I’m sure a lot depends on context.
It gets complex and problematic. Trump is a public figure hated by many so there are many verbalized wishes to kill him. Can you properly investigate each and every one?
And we get into privacy issues. Suppose it’s not a public platform but a private email? Should govt/tech be sniffing all our content for certain words and phrases? What if I text my husband while he’s at the store, “If you forget bread again I’m going to kill you.” Do we really want Big Brother seeing and acting on that?

And yet a man pretending he is a woman, or vice versa, should be encouraged, subsidized and considered "normal".

More guns not less. Arm teachers . . .
How about we rephrase that to say "allow teachers to arm themselves"?
If you arm teachers, most of them are going to shoot themselves, the cops, or worse give the gun to the bad guy.

Agreed. Someone who is armed in defense of others should be properly trained and ready to do whatever it takes to protect those in their charge. I have no problem at all with armed school security officers on site whenever students are present. Plus cameras everywhere. Give the average teacher a gun and they will probably stick it in a drawer and be afraid to touch it. Never practice, and probably shoot the first cop they see.

Every jurisdiction that does this is purely voluntary. They're also very, very well trained in decision making and firearms.

THIS! But schools bow to the green hair far left freak teachers who scream and panic that someone has a gun in school. Even though that person is well trained and is there to protect their mush for brains.

That’s what i meant. Of course I don’t mean just give every teacher a gun. There’s sheep and there’s sheep dogs. You let the sheep dogs handle the guns.

I don't know. I'm not sure what action should result if someone is just thinking.

Nothing, if they are just thinking and not talking or writing or communicating their thoughts in any way. Hopefully we will never have mind reading technology.
