Our washing machine broke so I called the repair service and he came out. He was a young kid, didn’t look any older than mid twenties, had tattoos, earring, I think a little nose ring, the kind on the side, not the kind that looks like snot running out. Not very tall, kind of androgynous, I’m not completely sure he wasn’t a trans of some sort. I jumped to the assumption he’d be a lefty, especially since the service is based in the city.
So he diagnoses the machine, can’t fix it, I have to call the manufacturer and it’ll be covered under warranty blah blah blah, he’s standing there telling us this and suddenly says, “I see you have a Trump bumper sticker over there. Are y’all Trump supporters?”
My husband and I are like, uh… yeah… and then the kid goes, “Whew! Good! So am I.” And then went on a tirade about Charlie Kirk and we had a great conversation. The kid is real worried about the division in the country.
That kid knew his job around the washing machine. I was impressed, but I was thrilled to find out he’s not a brainwashed lefty. And again, we cannot assume anything by outward appearances.

The fact that he was working in a trade should have been your first clue.
How many androgynous lefties actually work at work?

You’re absolutely right.
