Dead at 89.
This just broke on Lucianne but it’s too soon for them to have a link.

That's really sad. We're in a time when the wonderful actors / directors I grew up with are getting older and are leaving us. Redford was one of the great actors and directors. He will be missed.

Great actor. Anyone remember him in “The Great Waldo Pepper”? That movie came out when I was learning to fly. So many great movies but I think my favorite has to be “The Horse Whisperer”, believe that’s the title. RIP

He’s not 89. He’s like, 40 something. 45 max. Right? RIGHT?!
-
Big time Lefty, but I like all of his movies. Never saw the horse one, that was too much Left with J Fonda.
-
He was leftist, but wasn’t an ass about it.
First movie I watched with him was Jeremiah Johnson. A movie I still watch over and over.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was another classic.

Sneakers
not really leftist

I might have the title wrong because I’d never watch anything with Hanoi Jane. The one you’re thinking of is “Electric Horseman”. Never watched it.

"Three Days of the Condor." Saw an interview with Faye Dunaway, who co-starred. She said, "Yeah, being held hostage by Robert Redford ...what a chore.....
I'm paraphrasing.

That movie was gripping. You didn’t know who were the good or bad guys. After watching it my husband and I kind of looked at one another like, can I really trust you?

That movie could be made today.
