Seriously. Civilization is doomed. This is articulating something that’s been bugging the back of my mind for a while. In the hospital post surgery, the young nurses would come in and give me this stare. Where is the compassionate smile (even if faked) from the previous generations of nurses? Ironically, the male young nurses were not like this, they were old school friendly.
I have found the same with waitresses. The female ones more likely to give you this blank stare than the waiters. He doesn’t address the sex difference (if there is one) in the video but he mentions anxiety as what might be the cause, and women are more prone to anxiety than men.
Face to face social interaction is collapsing and we aren’t evolved to deal with it. It’s making young generations grow up psycho. They literally never learn social interaction skills, because online posting - surprise! - is not real life.

My recent hospital saty was veru good, the nurses and techs were all extremely friendly and fun to be around.

On a recent trip I was with a young early twenties young man. Nice enough, but I realized he has no social skills whatsoever.
He did have the bent neck stare at his phone look. And he did spend a lot of time checking his device. I jokingly call these "life support devices" because they constantly have to check it.

I myself feel the effects of being online too much. It has made my attention span too short. But I’m old and retired. My brain was fully developed decades before the tech age. And I’m past the age of needing to be fully engaged in productive work.
As he says in the video, these young people being raised on it are declining in conscientiousness, which is basically what we call “work ethic”. It will be catastrophic for civilization for that to go down much.

They're not all like this
I deal with 20 somethings a lot. Maybe it's because to their college educated but most im which I interact are well adjusted and can communicate normally.
