Does anyone else see the similarities to the election fraud lawsuits of 2020? Both of these cases have lots of evidence but the judge finds a technicality (supposed) to toss the entire case out. This has zero to do with the merits of the case, it's once again nothing but lawfare and legal jujitsu.

If anybody thought Trump would be able to cure the absolute cancer that the Federal Government has become they were delusional. The best Trump can do is “mild reform” and a “soft reset” (credit to Styx) and slow down the inevitable collapse.
The only way to actually fix it is civil war or revolution to burn it all down and start afresh and that can go two ways: Communist like Russia or China, or a free republic like the 13 colonies. But this is a very different world now. Our people are fat, sick, depressed, lazy, complacent, and aging out. I don’t see any possibility of option 2 at this point. We are many generations into youth who have been falsely warped about our history, have no concept of our Constitutional structure, and believe our country is inherently evil, and they themselves evil if white; stupid if black. The men and women hate each other so much men have nothing to fight for anyway.
We are witnessing the collapse of a great civilization, like they all collapse. It seems to be programmed into our collective DNA. We read story after story of how people get elected and in a couple of years become multi millionaires on salaries of less than $200k/year. As an example I would like to see MTG's disclosures of entering office and leaving office. Same with Dan Crenshaw and many others. Markwayne Mullin was caught manipulating defense stock purchases recently. Even AOC is a multi Millionaire now after coming into office as a poor bartender.
We've allowed politicians to raid the national treasury with no consequences. We've allowed a government not to even attempt to have a balanced budget. And we've allowed intel agencies to be the gate keeper.

There was a time back in the day when colleges were a place of actual higher learning, where only the intellectually superior attended, which aligned with the upper classes, which aligned with success and competence. Sorry, it’s true. “The rich” tend to be rich because of some sort of superiority, basically intelligence and conscientiousness (aka “hard work”), largely heritable, leading to the whining about “inherited wealth” (class envy). Yes it tends to lock wealth in families and some dunce children don’t deserve it. Nevertheless, on average, the more intellectually competent were the ones going to universities.
The truth is, these “superior” humans were the ones leading progress. Thinkers, inventors, explorers, capital investors. The “elite” were leaders in philosophy, medicine, science, and so on. Knowledge was concentrated in, and passed down through, these institutions of higher learning.
There was therefore, some justification for funding them. The civilizational progress benefitted EVERYONE, down to the poorest, who actually benefit the MOST from technological innovation, as they are brought from living on the edge of starvation to being merely “poor” but getting by. It could be argued that taxpayers should fund colleges because supporting the education of the superior thinkers broadly benefits all humanity, and it did, back in the day.
This entire argument was wrecked when we decided everyone should go to college. Everyone has equal potential. Everyone can be a doctor, scientist, engineer, etc. This was a massive lie, brought about by the denial of potential being mostly genetic.
It is 100% incontrovertible that IQ is inherited. You get a range of 10, 15 points at most, within which you can be boosted by good nutrition or other environmental factors but that’s it. There’s a hard ceiling. You cannot make a 90 IQ person into a 135 IQ person by sending them to college or doing anything else.
But this fact is seen as racist so was denied for decades, resulting in catastrophe for generations. Too few kids going into trades and too many going to college for worthless degrees. The racial aspect is averages; a bell curve. Therefore you have geniuses of all races, and morons of all races. But instead of identifying gifted black kids and making sure they were not discriminated against (“legacy” admissions did discriminate) instead we threw open the doors to all, black or white, no matter how dumb, if they squeaked by the SAT I suppose, which standards have deliberately been lowered for the very purpose of achieving DEI quotas.
The idea that ALL people should go to college dilutes the value of a college education while simultaneously exploding the cost to taxpayers, if you are going to continue the tradition of government funding. Now, the funding is not only NOT helping further society, it is actively destroying it. On top of taxpayer burden, you’re still loading the students with debt, and the less intellectually gifted ones come out with worthless degrees, no real contribution to society, and NO trade skills that actually does contribute, resulting in a shortage, the need for migrants and so on, nevermind the devastating consequences to the kid himself.

There seems to be a formula that I just made up but probably exists somewhere (IQ + Work Ethic) = Success. I've known some pretty not too bright people who made up for it with amazingly hard work. And also many very bright people who were able to succeed without much work at all. And a very few people who are very smart and work very hard and achieve amazing results. Trump and Musk come to mind.
College does not increase IQ or Work Ethic. It does teach you how to think more effectively, and perhaps to work more effectively, and gives you knowledge to do something with. IQ is just raw horsepower, as is Work Ethic. College (or life or apprenticeships) is the fuel. Someone who is very smart and willing to work hard but is also uneducated may find life difficult. That person may not be aware of the opportunities out there. But someone who is stupid (low IQ) and unwilling to work will go to college and come out with nothing more than a huge loan to pay off.
Some colleges see a falling number of students and try to make up for it by lowering admission standards. That puts a whole lot of stupid people who suck resources away from those who can really benefit. So departments fight back with required "flunk out" courses. Stick something like required calculus in the early stages to weed out the unworthy. Those who are smart enough or work hard enough can get through it. Those who can't, drop out into (hopefully) a worthwhile trade.
Way back in high school we sorted ourselves into three classes. X for college-bound. Y for trades. Z for I don't know what but probably prison. X took all the hard classes that prepared us for even harder college classes. Y took auto shop and such. Z took study hall. Now I think everyone is treated equal... the former X and Y don't get the preparation they need as everything is dumbed down to make Z not feel bad.

What you might be thinking is, statistically the two traits most associated with success are high IQ and conscientiousness. That’s the one you can loosely call “work ethic”. But it doesn’t necessarily mean long hours and literal sweat. You can work very efficiently and be conscientious.
IQ is just a measure of cognitive processing but conscientiousness is a personality trait. Raw brain power without the personality to doggedly apply it doesn’t get you far. And the ability to work your ass off without some intelligence likewise doesn’t get you very far. You might survive okay but won’t achieve outstanding success, which is why simply telling people to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” is not helpful. That’s the lie from the right. The lie from the left is “anyone can be successful”. Just as wrong because without inborn intelligence you can only go so far; you’re not going to be the top of the heap. And the left doesn’t believe in inborn intelligence limits; that’s racist.
Caveat: You can of course get rich without these traits through corruption, crime, whoring yourself or simple luck. That’s not what they’re talking about when they say success.
