Title: What’s up with…

Apropos of nothing special, but what’s up with men wearing fingernail polish?

Do women find that hot?

Clear or colored?

Men may use clear nail polish as a makeshift bandaid on an open wound, in a pinch, but that’s it.

Exception: Male vampires may wear black nail polish. But they have to be actual vampires, which don’t exist, so…

I’m guessing they are wearing it to attract other men, rather than women.

I'm more likely to have superglue than nail polish around where I'm likely to cut myself.  But nail polish whether clear or colored... no way!

Grok says clear nail polish and liquid "band-aid" (New-Skin) are basically the same thing:

Quote
New-Skin is very similar to clear nail polish in composition and mechanism—both are nitrocellulose-based solutions that dry to form a tough, transparent, flexible film. In fact, liquid bandages like New-Skin are often described as "nail polish for wounds" due to their shared formula. The key difference is purpose and a minor additive: New-Skin is optimized for wound protection with a built-in antiseptic, while clear nail polish is for cosmetic use on nails.

Yeah I wouldn't use nail polish on an injury. The antiseptic additive is probably important.

I have a single fingernail that is constantly splitting north to south and my bride bought a clear glue type of goop that tries to seal the spot where the split starts.

Does that count?

I have a similar nail (actually, two of them).  Does that glue work?

Currently, I take about two teaspoons of gelatin with breakfast every day.  That help some but if I miss a few days the nails start to split again, and I hate taking any sort of supplement on a long term basis if I don't need to.  You are supposed to get all that from eating right.

Maybe they have granddaughters.

I recently started taking collagen for the same reason, to strengthen my nails. Collagen is the precurser to gelatin.  I asked my doctor about it, he said it is safe to take.  My theory is that we don't get it from eating right because we don't chew on the bones and suck out the marrow like the cavemen did.  I think that's where the gelatin is.

As for the nail glue, is it New-Skin or something similar? Like a liquid bandage or something specifically for nails?

I'll have to point that out to my wife.  She hates it when I pick up the steak bones and start chewing the tendons and sucking the marrow.  Especially at restaurants.  She says I look like a cave man.  I quit telling her that is why she married me. (it didn't help)

It helps but not totally.
