Quite the success story
Yes, yes it is.  He certainly has persevered.

That's a 2 1/2 hour video.  How do people have time to watch all those?  I'm retired and I don't have near that much free time.  I watched about 10 minutes of it, and even though I like what they were saying, I saw no reason to continue to watch just because they were saying thinks I already know.

If I watched longer would I have seen anything more important than what I read here?

And I have made a ton of money with NVDA and still own a lot of it.

I know I have said this a billion times before but I NEVER “watch” these things. I pipe them into my hearing aids (you can use earbuds) and do mindless chores while I listen, not watch. Zero wasted time, boring chore becomes useful time. Mowing for an hour and a half, this is a great video for that, no need to change video mid-mow. Which makes me look like an idiot with the mower on but stopped in the middle of the yard and me sitting there screwing around on my phone.

I watch, just really listening, while I am doing other things on the computer.

There is a great discussion about AI and AI data centers.

I have to increase the speed to 1.5 in order to listen to pod casts.

That included Rush.  I could do his 3 hour radio show in about 80 minutes as a commercial free subscriber.

If I'm doing something mindless, like taking a walk, I can do that.  But even when I'm taking a walk I'm watching the birds and the fish jumping in the river and saying HI to people walking by.  Maybe I'm getting old, but I can't pay attention to more than one thing at a time and do any of them justice.

WOW!

Just finished it. That was AMAZING. I had no idea the story behind that company and just like Joe Rogan, I too bought that video card because I was building my own gaming computers. No clue the importance of that card! Just took it for granted.

What it takes to be an innovator just blows my mind. When he went to the guy and told him he failed and couldn’t deliver but can you just give me ten million dollars anyway? So young with pimples still on his face.

And him growing up without his parents in the poorest county in Kentucky, or did he say the entire U.S.? I mean his whole story is just amazing.

In what other country in the world would this level of success be possible, by anyone, much less by a poor legal immigrant? How many millionaires did NVDIA create as a consequence?

The story of his childhood, sent over here without parents to escape whatever was going on back east, then when the parents finally came, had nothing but one suitcase and whatever was in their pockets. Got jobs because Dad was smart and educated, mom worked as a housekeeper. Then this guy worked his ass off AND was brilliant, AND took all kinds of RISK.  It's a small percent of humans that can do what he did but anybody can get a job and survive if they have a work ethic and don't come here to be a parasite.

Based on Huang’s interview here I finally made up my mind on the subject of AI government regulation. I come down on the same side as Styx here. (Styx has had some issues with content degradation lately but it’s because of coverage quality due to what I believe are personal problems he’s having, not due to me thinking he’s becoming wrong on his positions.)

https://rumble.com/v72ra1g-regulating-ai-at-any-level-is-asinine-and-wont-work.html?e9s=src_v1_ucp_a

In addition to what he says, I believe the nuclear bomb analogy is apt: We must have no controls on our own development because we must not allow the Chinese (or whatever adversary) to develop better AI. We must always be able to counter evil AI with our own more advanced AI. This of course assumes “we” remain the good guys, but the only way to ensure all of this is to allow competitive private development. People like Huang.

Yes I see problems with this. But to put AI under federal government control risks far bigger problems.
