Instead of Pardoning this scumbag, you should have waited then commuted his sentence and let him live with the conviction.

That makes zero sense. (Trump’s reaction, not that the guy is a snake. Your point is Trump shouldn’t be surprised he’s still running as a Democrat because of the “You knew I was a snake when you took me to your bosom” fable, right?)
Did Trump think he’d suddenly flip Republican just because he got pardoned? Was he supposed to drop out of his political career then?
And if we must have a Democrat, the guy is a conservative Democrat. Has been all his life. He’s against abortion, and pro border security. He is pro gay marriage but also against men in women’s sports. Just a garden variety centrist Democrat, not a woke lunatic. We need more of those in the Democratic Party.
Well on the other hand maybe we don’t need more reasonable centrist Democrats in that party. They might start winning elections again.
I’m not saying he’s a good guy. And I think Trump is playing a bit fast and loose with the pardons. It’s almost as if he’s doing it just to thumb his nose at the Dems for really abusing it using the Biden autopen.
Having said that, I don’t know enough about this guy’s alleged crimes. Maybe it was another Dem witch hunt, eating their own for not celebrating killing babies or something. He was indicted by a grand jury in Houston, that den of leftist cockroaches in the middle of a red state. Or possibly he’s guilty as the day is long. In which case Trump shouldn’t have pardoned him. Maybe Trump knows something I don’t.
Either way, Trump getting salty about him still running as a Dem sure sends the wrong message: That the pardon is a political favor tied to loyalty, not objectively based on the facts of guilt or innocence. It's doing exactly what we were criticizing the Biden administration for doing.
Trump is doing a lot of stuff lately that’s pissing me off. But that’s fine, he’s not perfect, no one is. He is doing far more good and I still support him unconditionally; the alternative is FAR worse.

I would seriously doubt that Trump wrote and signed the pardon without talking to Cuellar first. And just reading between the lines, I believe Cuellar told the President a few things (Not going to run again, change parties, etc) then once he got the pardon he gave the President the middle finger. That would have caused the reaction we are seeing.

I hadn’t thought of that. That makes it more understandable. But still would have political strings rather than a straight up pardon due to legal merit. In any case, even if it did come with strings, Trump is miles ahead of the Biden administration in integrity. Trump isn’t pardoning a crack addicted criminal piece of shit spawn.

Agreed. And we know that 99% of the "Biden Pardons" are in fact autopen signed documents he (FJB) knew nothing about.
Oh, and notice that the autopen "investigation" has quietly gone nowhere as well.
The MAGA base wants action and results, not Beltway politics as usual.
