What can you tell me about spousal carve out. Now I have to pay a family plan where I work and my wife has to purchase a plan through her employer. Once she provides an affidavit of heath care through her employer I could add her to my family plan as a secondary to her plan. WTF? Obama care strikes again! >:(
-
Its AFFORDABLE care. Increased my premiums, co pay and deductible ($12k).
Ha! It's not called MORE affordable.
-
ACA - 3 lies for the price of one.
what could be more affordable than that?

Although I am adversely impacted, if it allows those who previously had not healthcare to get it then I'm for it...except there is a segment at the lower end of the economic scale that had Medicare available to them (and still do). I've yet to meet anyone that now has coverage who previously didn't, but I'm not in Healtcare to put myself in a pool of people who could lend their stories.

While the goal of healthcare for all is admirable, the problem with that POS obamacare is the expense and how it F's it up for everyone.
Kind of like the goal of instilling discipline in children by beating the crap out of them. The goal is good, the process is fatelly flawed.
And no one can claim that the POS obamacare addresses heathcare costs
Of course, no one has bothered to articulate the reasons why US healthcare costs so much (or why that's bad)

That's what you get when legislation this big gets rammed through Congress and signed without time to look at it and make changes. Remember this? "We have to pass it so you can see what's in it?" Who thought that was actually good, other than Pelosi and the Democrats?
As the costs continue to rise, I think this will be used as justification as to why we have to take this to the next logical step: a single payer healthcare system. One more step in the fundamental transformation.
You won't find healthcare as a right in the Constitution because it isn't there. Of course Bernie Sanders believes that you have a right to healthcare by virtue of being a human being. What he, and every other Democrat out there, fails to address is how to pay for it. It clearly isn't working right now since the costs keep going up.
-
The real purpose of obamacare was always to use the cost as a means to overwhelm the system.
Barack Obama is a devotee of Cloward and Piven. They wrote and spoke about collapsing the country from the inside out - top down.
Francis Fox-Piven was a guest at the White House several times and spoke about the time when people would take to the streets and tear America down.
Everything Obama does is designed to destroy, not improve.

Bingo. The real purpose of ACA is to drive the costs up so quickly and horribly that the people will clamor for gov't single payer.

Good thing we have a presidential candidate committed to the end of O-Care
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told CNN’s Anderson Cooper he likes the mandate established by President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act that everyone must have insurance or pay a fine.

Too bad all he wants to do is rename it to T-Care. It'll be fabulous.

FTFY.
It's great for insurance companies. I have to spend $23000 out of pocket every year before I get one thin dime of benefit.

Did I miss the change to the Constitution allowing the President to kill off legislation?
We've been voting in Republicans through three election cycles now that pledged to repeal Obamacare. That fucking worked well.
-

Well we have President Obama who has a pen and a phone, and that's pretty much the same thing. Right?
We've been voting in Republicans through three election cycles now that pledged to repeal Obamacare. That fucking worked well.
The President has the right to veto a bill that comes before him. It was symbolic at best; everyone knew it wouldn't actually get repealed under President Obama.

Go read "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky. Then go read both of Obama's books. While you are at it, go read Cloward and Piven.
It should become obvious what's in it for him.

Sounds like you're saying that I have to become indoctrinated first before I become an Obama hater, otherwise you can't explain it either. No Cliff notes? No Fast Track to B.O.H8ville? C'mon convince me. I'm open.

For someone who demands that people accept your assertions of racism at face value I would think you would be capable of looking at the proffered documentation to help you understand.
Alinsky was one of Barack Obama's favored writers and his writings seem to be lived out in Barack's behavior.
His Rules For Radicals mirror Obama's behavior.
Cloward and Piven were Obama's idols according to his phony books, and their objectives mirror Obama's in many ways.
Francis Fox-Piven was Obama's guest at the White House where she spoke about her husband's 'legacy.'
What you reall meant was that you refuse to believe what goes against your agenda, and I understand that.

No agenda. I genuinely thought that it could be explained succinctly.
No one here accepts anything I say on racism at face value. You can't if you don't have personal experience for much of it, ergo the lack of empathy. What you say is so laughable....

Bull Shit buddy! You live in such a narrow minded world in which ONLY if you have dark skin can one experience racism. Try going to other parts of the world. Try China, or any Asian country. Being a white westerner will get you all the racism one could ever want to experience.
Or try the middle east. You or I are looked down upon, so we get it equally.
You cry about racism, but you are young. You have never experienced racism to the degree others have. Try going to talk to an 80 year old black man in the deep south, he can tell you what racism is really like. He would laugh at what you would consider racist.
-

The simple reason is: Everything you say is "racism". Read "The boy who cried wolf"

I can only speak about that which I have a frame of reference. For example,
I cannot be an effective advocate for white women's suffrage, but I can speak about voter discrimination in a way that allies our common causes.
What makes you think I'm not acquainted with 80yo black men? I have a father and once had grandfathers. I grew up in a community of men older than I. I sit at the foot of elderly men and women, speaking about days of yore. My maternal and paternal families are from the south.
Sorry, but you fired a dud on that one. But I do like your other ideas/ suggestions. For that I'll give you a lollipop.

I intentionally stay away from your constant race baiting, and only replied because of the way over the top comment you made. You, like so many feel you are being discriminated against when in reality you have more offered to you than most.
You truly have no idea.

I'll accept that I don't know what I don't know. Fine.
But I would like you to point out the "over the top comment".

What he, and every other Democrat out there, fails to address is how to pay for it.
I guess you're not paying attention. They clearly say higher taxes on rich people and corporations will pay for it.
-
There aren't enough rich people to even make a dent in the debt even if you confiscated all their worldly goods.
And corporations don't not pay taxes. Their customers do.
-

We are not talking about the national debt. It was "How do the Democrats intend to pay for single payer health care?". That's super insightful about the corporate taxes and all, but again I was just saying how the Democrats intend to pay for single payer healthcare.
Of course they say that the "wealthy" and corporations will pay, but what they really mean we will all pay one way or another. Their blue print for the transformation of America is Europe. That means high taxes for everyone and "free" social services. The Millennials are being thoroughly indoctrinated in this type of thinking, so it will happen.

Not necessarily. There's a lot of people, more than you give credit to, that realize this isn't the way to go. The media spins a lot of this and only plays the sound bites that fit the progressive narrative. As younger people enter the work force with real jobs, they begin to see how taxes affect them. Reality changes a lot when you graduate and get a real job in engineering or what have you vs. the ones who graduate with a women's studies degree and can't find a job. The latter are the ones asking the government for hand outs because they can't support themselves.

Socialism is inevitable? I don't think so.

Socialism is inevitable? I don't think so.
How do you plan on stopping it?
When I was in school we heard about the Soviet Union and Communism and how bad it was. Little did I know that some of my classmates thought that was pretty cool and would end up in Academia teaching today's generation how cool it is and what a great systems it is compared to our shitty capitalist society and here we are turning out college graduates who believe capitalism is evil and socialism is the only fair thing.
Feel the Bern!!
-
More Socialism will continue to be the norm here until our total collapse as long as the Media, Education, and Government promotes it. The liberal/progressives have taken over these three important institutions. Until that changes we are doomed.

They are one and the same.

It seems that the number of uninsured before the affordable heath care plan was law was 45 million, the number of uninsured now is 33 million after the enrollment period. Anyone have other numbers?

An awful lot of those people, and many others who were properly insured before the abomination called obamacare, are trapped in very high deductible policies that comply, but make it virtually impossible to benefit from the premiums because of how much out of pocket has to be satisfied before the plan is any good.

It's great isn't it. We threw the whole insurance business into a tizzy to insure 12 million more. Made promises that turned out to be so wrong.
Gonna reduce everyone's bill by $2,500
Like your plan you can keep your plan
Like your doctor you can keep your doctor.

Like me. For the first time in my life I'm looking at the barrel of $12k+ in medical bills. I had a hernia surgery, my wife had a baby and my other 2 children had routine eye exams and checkups.

Can you image how awesome single payer will be?
😡

yeah, single payer will mean health care will improve.
I don't know why, but we've been assured by many people that single payer is required in order to improve the quality of health care.
I'm sure that they can't be mistaken about something so important.
-
Just think what they will be able to do under single payer......
Pregnant mothers will be required to have the baby tested and if any irregularity is detected they will be forced to abort thus avoiding costly medical care down the road.
As you age they can set a cutoff amount so you don't cost the people too much money. They'll just have you euthanized.
It will be nirvana!!

If you want to see how great single-payer is, just look at the VA system. That is the goal for the leftists...VA for All
-
And what a joy medicals will be under single payer. I mean, the public really SHOULD pay for us to get checked out to fly, right? I think a dozen X-rays a year to check that there is no kidney stone isn't unreasonable, after all we HAVE to be safe. Nobody should be able to operate a 5700 lb machine at 14,000 ft without a medical unless they're driving their Expedition up Pike's Peak.

That's awesome! Maybe there will be room in single payer healthcare for my veterinarian daughter. She does euthanasia all the time!

I can't wait to see the ethical concerns of pharmaceutical companies evaporate when they can be reimbursed for death panel drugs vs drugs for Capital punishment!
