It ignores mousetopia. When a community has unlimited resources for which it does not need to work or compete, it collapses and dies, after a brief period of celebratory wallowing. Males lose their sense of purpose. Females lose interest in reproducing. The community goes extinct.
There has been enough evidence in human societies to draw a parallel to the mouse behavior. We see it right now in America, with the divide between young men and women, loss of interest in marriage and the collapse of the birth rate in all prosperous first world nations.
Nothing but free time to pursue hobbies that are unrelated to any resource reward isn’t the paradise Elon thinks it is. We evolved to compete for status and resources. Remove that and you’re short circuiting a million years of wiring. Sure after retirement you love hobbies. But you’re reaping the reward of a lifetime of purpose and striving and you know it. Take that away from men in their 30s and 40s and you end up with Hunter Biden; a pathetic loser chasing meaningless dopamine hits.
There is no mathematical point of everyone getting the same high income if there is no scarcity. You don’t need any money at all. If there is unlimited everything, just let people take it for free. There’s no point to putting prices on stuff.
If you give everyone any amount of income no matter how high, and they manage to spend it all, then you are de facto creating scarcity for him, which is counter to your claim of unlimited everything.
I’m puzzled that Elon can be so deeply unaware of basic economics. Or is he so brilliant, much more so than myself, that he sees something I’m missing?
So my opinion is, it ignores mousetopia and is counter to basic economics, things that are inherent in the human species. Elon is a bit autistic or otherwise prone to thinking in mechanical terms rather than really grasping human complexities. It was one of the things that made him blow up at Trump over DOGE not cutting as fast and drastically as he wanted; he failed to grasp the intricate human entanglements involved.

There will always be competition, because something will always be scarce. And it will be something that money can't buy. There's only so much land, and someone will always want more. Or that nice island over there. Or that hot chick. Who will make the products for unlimited consumption? At the low end, fine. But there are only so many Cirrus / Citation / whatever. Or spots on SpaceX to go to Mars. When money has no meaning, people will find something else to fight about. It's human nature.
