The entire Northeast, including PA, the West Coast, and Minnesota etc, are corrupt, dishonest States, supported by at least half their populace whom are societal and economic IDIOTS. Theses states are guilty of malfeasance..

I'm getting to the point where I would welcome a unified secession or separation of the States where there would be a Blue country and a Red country. But that wouldn't work because of the geographic separation of similar states.
So I thought a return to a limited Federal government with each state being semi-sovereign. The Feds would handle things like National Defense. But I have trouble deciding what else to allow the Feds to control, or how much to control it. For example, the Federal Department of Education should be disbanded. I think a Federal EPA serves a purpose but that should be to assist individual State EPAs, not to issue mandates. I used to think the Space program should be under the Federal government (ie, NASA), but boy was I wrong. Perhaps in the beginning that was important, but no longer.
If we were to have a convention of States and basically re-write or re-establish the Constitution, what powers or responsibilities would you grant t the Feds? Everything else would be left to the States.

Sorry, that’s just a pipe dream for this country. With the embedded deep state and the inside Beltway Uniparty the bloated fedgov will continue. And the fraud is there to feed money back into the Uniparty.

There are plenty of corrupt federal judges with no integrity, no sense, no honesty, and no brains who would love to rule that such a convention violates the constitution that guarantees it.

I'm not sure if you were referring to my post, but yeah, it is a pipe dream. I was just curious what others (even you) thought would be a good division of powers. How much power should FEDGOV have over the states?

It’s already spelled out in the constitution.
Other than that, items that deal with interstate such as aviation (not foreseen in the constitution) should fall under federal government.
EPA, Dept of Education, Energy, etc should be abolished and handled at the state level.

Only what the CONSTITUTION actually gives them, fairly and reasonably interpreted by the courts. Yes, border control and enforcement is one of them.

By "return to a limited government" I meant return to what the Constitution said. But the Constitution has been so warped, misinterpreted and misapplied that it no longer resembles what the founding fathers had in mind. Consider the tens of thousands of gun control laws on the books in the US. How is that possible under the 2nd A.
