Maybe this should be in medical topics.
A new study seems almost too good to be true: Drinking coffee may help prevent dementia. As a coffee drinker myself, I was initially skeptical of the
claim. It seemed to be yet another instance of a paper hyping up a “superfood” to validate a habit that many of us already have. After all, almost half of Americans drink coffee daily.
But this study, funded by the National Institutes of Health and published in JAMA, was unusually convincing. The researchers analyzed data from more than 131,000 people over multiple decades. Every two to four years, participants completed detailed questionnaires about their diet, including coffee and tea consumption. Investigators tracked dementia diagnoses, cognitive testing results and self-reported problems with thinking and memory, with follow-ups extending up to 43 years.

It’s the caffeine. Decaf does not work.

If it's the caffeine maybe my diet Pepsi will work as well...

My understanding is that they don't know if it is the caffeine or something else. The thinking is that the process of decaffeinating coffee may also be removing whatever else it might be that helps prevent dementia. But the crap in diet Pepsi will probably destroy your brain long before coffee has a chance to defend your brain.
Therefore: DRINK MORE COFFEE!
QED.

I have one cup of coffee in the morning and then it's water the rest of the day for me. Probably around 64 oz in a day.
-
Two cups of coffee, sometimes 2 1/2, then later a C4, Ghost, or Monster energy drink. The energy drink makes me feel good, but I keep it to ONE.
-
Usually 3 cups. 2 black and 1 milk and sugar.

Is that 2 liters? My doctor tells me to drink 2 liters of water a day. Why is he talking to me in metric? He’s Amercan for Chrissake. He’s TEXAN. What the hell is wrong with him?

I have two mugs in the morning. Each mug is 14 oz. Sometimes I have third. Like right now because hubby brought me a doughnut. Need to have coffee with a doughnut.
Heavy cream, no sugar.

I limit myself to one cup per day (https://media.istockphoto.com/id/519282873/photo/happy-businessman-holding-funny-huge-oversized-cup-of-black-cof.jpg?s=612x612&w=0&k=20&c=nOIzFnyv6g5a_wGDZ4xFCsGUIw_yWJSQHdq5MqVCjjo=)
