They only struck down one law on tariffs, there are actually several. In the grand scheme of things it only places a minor dent.
Gorsuch was the real surprise here.

I think that there's a lot more going on behind the scenes. I have a hunch that this will end up being a good thing. At the very least it destroys the narrative that the court always sides with Trump. Kavanaugh effectively gave Trump a road map on how to get around this ruling.

ok, the President doesn't have the authority to impose tariffs, except as authorized by Congress. That's pretty clear from reading the US Constitution.
I hope the liberals apply the same thinking to the bureaucratics in DC going beyond their authority (e.g., EPA).

Holy Chit! Could it be Roberts actually knew what he was doing? Or is this article a fantasy. I'm not smart enough for all the nuance.
Even sharper after yesterday’s decision, MQD provides that if a statute doesn’t say something, executive agencies like the EPA or CDC can’t regulate into existence what are essentially new laws. For example, SCOTUS first used the muscular new version of Major Questions to strike down Biden’s OSHA mandate forcing businesses with more than 100 employees to require the jabs.
In short, Major Questions says federal agencies can’t just claim jurisdiction over the water in your backyard bird feeder and call it law. Revolutionary, I know.
Had yesterday’s decision swung the other way, had SCOTUS let Trump extrapolate tariffs from IEEPA, it would have undermined the terrific MQD machete, which is one of the Roberts Court’s most important restrictions on future Democrat presidents. After this decision, the MQD is even stronger. Swing away, boys. Chop, chop.

The democrats live by soundbites, not substance.
The MSM gobbled up those soundbites and danced around. "We finally got him!" "His economy will come crashing down now!".
However had they took the time to dig deeper and actually read the opinion they would have discovered they just got screwed, again.
Watch this story quickly die. But before it does the next narrative will be "See! He's a dictator!" and "He's defying the supreme court!" hoping the pablum consuming liberals will not read the real story.
More theater.

EPA, BATFE, IRS, etc.

Not that I expect anyone to explain Democrats (which would be quite similar to explaining women), but before the tariffs they said the tariffs would cause the economy to come crashing down. Therefore, you would expect them (and you'd be wrong) to say that removing the tariffs will jump start the economy.
