That was then:
This is now:
We cannot afford this person as President.

I'm not sure how that can be taken out of context. She literally said she's going to put companies out of business and people out of work. She also doesn't care, she was just pandering. Then Senator Obama also made a comment about electricity prices "necessarily" skyrocketing. Yet people in these states still vote for the Democrats.

You can't fix stupid.

Yet people in these states still vote for the Democrats.
People like to focus on the debacle that was Florida in 2000 as putting Bush over the top.
However, West Virginia, a state that had voted solidly "D" for decades flipped to "R" in 2000. Had it not, Florida would have been a footnote in history, and Al Gore would have been talking about his Lock Box as POTUS.

Pretty sure WV also voted for the Bern in the Primary.

Yet the blue collar workers state (collectively, not individually) they will vote for Trump before Hilldog or the Bern.

When gasoline prices spiked Hillary was pushing for a "windfall profits tax" on oil companies, and OBAMA was saying he was fine with high gasoline prices, but maybe they shouldn't have gone up so fast. Wow, the price of energy affects low and middle income people the most. Make electricity and gasoline costs go up, and it really hits them hard.

Gotta love those democrats, looking out for the common man and all.

Yet the media is fine with that, and promotes their economy destroying policies that hurt the poor, low and middle income people. Hillary wants to replace coal with wind and solar. Coal provides almost 50% of electricity generation in the U.S. Wind, and solar produce an infinitesimal amount. For every unit of wind and solar a unit of fossil fuel must be produced as they are unreliable.

Not that I agree with Hillary, but this statement is not entirely true.
Say we have a coal plant up and running 7/24/365 and it is generating all of the electricity an area needs.
Now we build an unreliable wind/solar farm that only generates a two megawatts a day, three days a week. That is 6 megawatts a week that does not have to come from coal. When the sun is not shining and the wind is not blowing, the coal plant is still working. But when the Sun/Wind is plentiful, then that coal does not have to be used up as fast.

I'm a large proponent of alternative fuel sources. That said, it should be private enterprise driven and not selected by Fedgov. In my ideal world we would have ample nuclear energy and more electric cars a la Tesla.

Agreed. Alternative fuel sources are a great concept but just isn't practical at this time and that's what liberals fail to realize. The energy produced by these alternative fuel sources, currently, doesn't match or exceed fossil fuels with the exception of nuclear energy. I'm all for more nuclear energy. It's generally safe (not withstanding accidents, which happen with other fossil fuels as well, and terrorist attacks).
If someone in the private sector could find a way to use alternative fuels and it was sustainable and practical there would be a market for it. The government attempting to subsidize it doesn't make any more sustainable or practical. In fact, as we've seen with Solyndra and others, it just wastes tax payer money.

It would seem that Liberals fully understand... that would explain why they are hot for government mandates. Make the fossil fuels so expensive that alternative sources become viable.
(efforts to make the alternative sources more economic is (are?) possibly viewed as too hard)

Yeah, there are more ideas that will help the lower income people..... ???

But it's my understanding that the mining for rare earth elements for such things as batteries is an significant environmental problem, and the demand for these elements is outpacing supply.
There's no such thing as a free lunch.

They don't want electric cars. They don't want cars, period.
They want pedestrian malls, buses and trains. And bicycles.

Never implied there was a free lunch. There are, however, ways to transport oneself in a manner to mitigate, not eliminate, pollution.

The Progressive/Liberal elite want cars, planes, and all the modern comforts and conveniences, but only for THEMSELVES. They do not want them for the masses. We can just pay for them to have all of that.

Sounds kinda like a King and royalty, don't it?

We have allowed the creation of a political and government class elite royalty with little to no accountability. This is due to the complicit media, and our liberal/progressive educational system.

Socialism is for the people, not the socialist.
