Title: We're Screwed..............
Post by: EppyGA - White Christian Domestic Terrorist on February 01, 2016, 07:31:11 AM
no matter who ends up in the White House.   The only difference I see, potentially, is the amount of time to get to the end.  If we put another "D" in the White House we'll get there much quicker.  If we put an "R" in the White house we still get there, but maybe a little slower although actions of late do not bare that out.

Someone convince me this is not true and that there actually is a way to pay down $20T in debt and not have it increase from this point on.

I assume you are only referring to the current group of republican and democrats running.

Yes, we need actual leadership from the President (not some moron who learns stuff from CNN).  We need a President we can trust and who will LEAD.

But with respect to specifically the debt.  I will once again try to remind people that the budget process is the responsibility of Congress.  Certainly the President can push for more and more and more spending (thanks obama, you worthless idiot), but spending bill must originate in the House.  We must get financially responsible people into Congress.  Until that happens, the worthless pondscum in DC will continue to run deficits, increasing the debt.

We also don't need more far left radical activists in the SCOTUS like Kagan, Sotomayor, and Ginsburg.  Elect a Dem, and we will get the Constitution overturned.  It is just an obstacle to these people.

Or Trump.  I mean, he'll have to make a deal with the Dems to get support to take over some little old lady's house by eminent domain so he can put in a new limo waiting area.

Imagine USSC Justice Barack Obama...

That, or worse, is possible if the hildebeast gets elected.

Only one candidate has advocated an Article V Convention of the States to propose and ratify a Balanced Budget Amendment, as well as term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court.

Marco Rubio.

That alone allows me to be very comfortable with him as our nominee, though I support Ted Cruz.

You have a link for that?  Honestly, hadn't seen that one.  I'm a proponent of an Article V convention myself, and though I cannot vote in the primary (If all goes well, I will be naturalized by the General), I'm spending time educating myself on all the candidates anyway.

Is EppyGA going to see this thread going the way of the Trumpkins thread?  Is there no ANSWER to these questions, or have we entered a universe where nothing can be determined as true?

I see 'Gimp's points in the related threads, but it does seem like the GOP is the stage show and the DNC is the weeny wizard behind the set PULLING ALL THE STRINGS.

That is why I posted this in the "We're Screwed" thread.

$20T is nothing, the unfunded liabilities are an order of magnitude worse and effectively un-repayable.

With the current choices and the systems in place to limit those choices we are screwed, the only question is how long.

If either or both parties can be reclaimed by the people AND someone can actually act as adult supervision it could get better but I am not expecting it.

The heartland article you linked claims that Rubio is not the only candidate that endorses an Article V convention.

Quote
Rubio joins many other Republican presidential candidates who have called for a convention, such as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Sen. Rand Paul (KY).
