Title: Chicken
Post by: Number7 on October 27, 2015, 07:55:27 PM
In the last week I have eaten chicken parmigiana, southern fried chicken, chicken fried chicken, chicken fricassee, chicken noodle soup, chicken salad, and BBQ chicken.

Is there any other food more adaptable to one's taste than chicken?

I nominate chicken for the official food of the Spin Zone.

Who's with me?

In the interest of full disclosure, I am also fond of chicken Alfredo, Milanese and lemon chicken.

What are you, an anti-porkite?

BBQ ribs should be the official food of the SZ.   :D

Speaking for what is certain to be a vegetarian minority...

...I think mushrooms are a rough equivalent in our world.

No need for snarky, sarcastic comments on vegetarianism, but they seem pretty inevitable.

I used to be vegetarian and plan to go back.  I don't eat mushrooms, it's the fungus.  But I like Blu Cheese (go figure).

I second the OP - me loves chicken!  It's so versatile and easy.  However, I don't care for the thighs.  If our geneticist overlords would develop chickens without thighs, I'd be very pleased.

When I was a child, a neighbor owned a chicken processing plant and I was once taken there.

I think what I saw may have had an effect on my vegetarianism going forward.

Lots of chicken and turkey plants here in N GA. Both Karen and I find getting behind the trucks full of birds on their last ride quite depressing and disgusting.

But That's Just Us! An admitted minority to be sure.

If you ever raised chickens you wouldn't be so fond of eating them.

They'll pick the corn out of a dog turd.

There are some things that aren't chicken, but taste like chicken.  That can be even better than chicken.

I don't mind. What I do mind now is that I have gone vegan. This is real work. My doc said I can either try that (since I already exercise and sleep well), or get on medication now. We will see how this goes. . . .

Slanker's Omega3 chicken has an Omega6/Omega3 ratio of 2/1.  Conventional chicken is 24.1/1

Q. What part of the chicken is the McNugget?

A. It's a trick question. It's ALL parts.

Get chicken from a healthy source instead of swearing it off cause of a nasty facility.  Its not the chicken's fault!

Based on my limited sampling of said McNuggets.... I would say they are the excreted part of the chicken.
