I probably don't even have to suffer Thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws this year because we discussed politics at my FILs birthday dinner in August. We will probably fly some place for the Holidays.

Some of my relatives don't like Trump. I do. If politics comes up, I am very honest about my beliefs. If their feeling get hurt, that is on them. I try to be as polite, and non emotional about it as I can. We typically just agree to disagree and move on. Pass the stuffing please. :)

We've already sent out an email telling everyone they're on their own, we're not traveling for the holidays and not inviting anyone here. I'll finish my homemade candles, ship them out and that will be that. I'm so over Christmas.

I am always curious as to why only conservatives are expected to remain silent when family discussions include politics.

They refuse to publish any but the least flattering photos of you, make fun of your wife and refuse to put photographs of her on their covers whilst plastering those same covers with photos of the last President’s wife. Hmm.
I’m okay with his not wanting to pretend to be having a gala evening with them. Would be great if he publicly announced that the money that would have been spent on the gala charade will go instead to charities in DC to help brighten Christmas for the less fortunate.
