Title: OMG! Now California wants to tax text-messaging?

Texting your sweetheart that you’re on your way home? California may soon charge you for that.

This is no LOL matter, critics say.

State regulators have been ginning up a scheme to charge a fee for text messaging on mobile phones to help support programs that make phone service accessible to the poor. The wireless industry and business groups have been working to defeat the proposal, now scheduled for a vote next month by the California Public Utilities Commission.

I am all for it.  Finally, these social media, SJW types, and the Tech industry will get hit with their own medicine.  Younger people live, and die by text.  They WON'T talk to you, and even email is archaic.  Let them feel the pain directly.

If it reduces the number of people texting while driving, walking, watching a movie, etc., I say make it nationwide.  I rarely text.

I have an idea. Put phone booths back into the poor neighborhoods and let them drop coins if they want to communicate with anyone. I was appalled when they starting giving free phones to welfare queens.
