Buttigieg, a 37-year-old progressive small-town mayor in deep-red Indiana with a difficult-to-pronounce last name, unexpectedly raised $7 million in donations in the first quarter, and has surged to third place in recent polls in Iowa and New Hampshire. A veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Buttigieg is also one of the first openly gay candidates to vie for a major party's presidential nomination.

This guy could have been the golden ticket for those Midwestern, conservative Democrats who voted for Trump in 2016. He seemed relatively normal, and I think many may look beyond his being gay.
Then true to radical progressive Democrat form, he has to pick a non-existent fight with Mike Pence, and Chick fil A.

My problem with him is not his being Gay. It is the far, far left progressive policies that ALL the Democrats are promoting including this guy. It is as if they are trying to out Commie each other. One of his big platforms is "Addressing wealth, and income inequality". Code words for I am an effing Communist.

Agreed. Being gay is not a deal breaker. Being a militant gay is, for many people.

Yes being a militant gay is a deal breaker for me as well. It means they let their "gayness" determine, or at least influence EVERY decision they make. I don't know this guy well enough, but it seems he certainly flaunts his gayness. He may be a closet militant, but he may be smart enough to hide that.

Thanks. Yes, that's a bit over the top. Pence is a class act as is Chik fil A. The Media hates White Christians, so if all you do is donate to a Christian organization that doesn't agree with the Gay lifestyle, or agenda you are demonized. You must not only agree, but support and promote being gay or be demonized!
This guy was an Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan, not a combat veteran. If it were Nam he would have been fragged.

Anheuser Busch is owned by a Belgian conglomerate, and like many Euro and American companies are all about Virtue Signaling to every Identity Politics group they can think of. Gays, Women, Blacks, and Trannies are the current favorites.
I have never liked Budweiser, nor any Busch product. We have so many great micro breweries in my area, you can't spit and not hit one. The only problem is the younger crowd seems to be obsessed with IPA's which I don't like as they are too hoppy. Therefore you get eighteen different IPA's, and a few other selections. Still it is better than any Busch crap.

Same here. Except I like a good hoppy IPA with fish and chips when we visit the Oregon coast. The breadth and scope of the microbreweries is rather astonishing. I used to think beer was beer until I tasted Iron Horse’s Irish Death. We also have some local hard cider places ... at one, they serve a drink that’s half cider, half Irish Death. I haven’t tried it yet ...

IPAs, Corona, and Miller are disgusting. As a Wisconsin transplant I feel sorry for those raised on Miller and don't know better. There are a few local breweries that do make a good beer, though.

Thread drift alert!
We are going through a micro brew renaissance in my area. There is one little town that is #10 on the list of "breweries per mile" nationally. It is a relatively recent phenomena. There are also now small micro distilleries popping up making Bourbon, Scotch and other hard liquors.

The best beer I have ever had was from brewery in New Jersey. High Point Brewing Company, www.ramsteinbeer.com. Their Oktoberfest Lager is the best beer I have ever had. Anybody out east needs to check it out. We can't get it in Wisconsin.

I know! I attended Hops and Props at the EAA Museum last year - a MUST DO event! - and the number of microbreweries highlighting hoppy beers was stunning.

I'm no expert, but I just know what I like. Most beers and ales are made with a combination of Hops and Malt. Different styles of beer have different types, or different amounts of each to give them different flavors and characteristics. Hops tend to be bitter, and Malt sweeter. I like a balance between the two. IPA's favor Hops so are more bitter. I don't like sweet beer, but I don't like overly bitter beer either.
